Sam finds Lillian sitting in the living room area of The Tower, relaxing, drinking some coffee. Clearly Lillian has just been having a casual morning, waiting for Sam, Alex and Ruby to wake up, so that she can then do a check up on both Alex and Sam. Earlier this morning Lillian was awake to say goodbye to Lois and Clark, who both decided to fly back to Metropolis, with Clark having recovered enough to do so. However, it's fair to say that Superman is probably going to be out of action for a few days. It probably didn't help that Clark was even more stubborn about laying under yellow sun lamps than Kara is, when she is hurt. None the less, it's not like Lillian was going to try and stop them, it's truly not her place, especially after what her son has done to Superman in the past.

"Sam?!" Lillian says, in a surprised voice, upon noticing Sam come running into the living room area, "What are you doing running out of bed?"

"It's Alex!" Sam says, "I need you to come quick. I think she made her ribs even worse sleeping with Ruby and I last night, like she did. She just literally moved from a laying position in bed, to sitting up in bed and let out a painful groan, and I know she was trying really hard not to, so she must really be in a lot of pain."

"Okay." Lillian says, now getting up to her feet and walking over to Sam, "Let's go."

"Good." Sam nods.

Lillian and Sam now begin walking back to the room where Sam has left Ruby and Alex, all the while Lillian is just glancing at Sam, checking for anything out of place with the CFO. After all, Lillian is also here to medically watch Sam, and make sure that everything continues to go well for her.

"How are you feeling today?" Lillian asks.

"Honestly, I don't care about me right now. I want you to focus on Alex." Sam says, in a firm voice.

"Sam....." Lillian says, in a certain tone.

The tone that Lillian says her name really makes all the hairs on the back of Sam's neck stand up, feeling like she is a child in trouble, hearing her mom's disapproving voice. Sam is literally getting a bit of an insight into how it must have been to have Lillian as a mother for Lena growing up.

"I'm fine." Sam now says, "I feel completely fine. I'll let you run all the tests and check ups on me later, just please, focus on Alex first."

"Okay." Lillian nods, taking Sam at her word, but will certainly be confirming it later.

A few moments later, Lillian and Sam enter the room where Alex and Ruby are. Right now, Alex has laid back down on the bed, with Ruby just standing at her adoptive mom's side, looking very worried and concerned. Lillian and Sam both quickly rush to Alex's side, with Lillian being ready to just do a basic check up of Alex, just to make sure one of her ribs hasn't accidentally punctured a lung or anything.

"Okay, Alex, let me have a look at you." Lillian says.

Alex nods her head at Lillian saying that, while also gripping her teeth, clearly hiding how much pain she is in from Ruby.

"Uhmm..... Sam, would you and Ruby like to step outside?" Lillian soon asks, knowing this might not be pleasant for Ruby if Alex yelps out in pain.

Sam now looks at Ruby, understanding what Lillian is getting at. A part of Sam is a bit torn as she thinks of Ruby, as a part of her does think that maybe it will be for the best for Ruby just not to see Alex in pain, especially as it's likely Alex is going to yell out in a lot of pain as Lillian begins to examine the red-head, that is not a nice experience for any child to have, seeing one of their parents in pain. However, at the same time, Sam herself doesn't want to part from Alex's side, and she also thinks that the not knowing of what is exactly happening might be even worse for Ruby than just hearing Alex in pain. So, ultimately, Sam thinks that it is probably for the best if Ruby stays here, and just witnesses everything, even if the teenager isn't going to like some of what is happening.
