It is now a few hours later, and over the last few hours, Kara, Lena and Alex have just been sitting in the surgery room, with Sam laying under yellow sun lamps, waiting to see when Sam will wake up. Of course, because of how long this is taking for Sam to actually wake up, some negative thoughts have crept into Alex's mind, that maybe her wife isn't going to wake up at all, and she is just in a sort of permanent coma now. However, Alex has been trying her best to not get lost in those negative thoughts. Alex knows that she needs to just focus on the moment, and what is happening right now, as otherwise she will just spiral out of control, and be sad and upset again, like she was when she thought that her wife was actually dead, along with everyone else. For Kara and Lena's side of things, over the last couple of hours, the couple haven't really been able to do much, they have just been sitting and waiting, along with Alex, giving Alex the support she needs, even if it's just with their presence, rather than with them talking to her or anything. Lena has, periodically, got up to check on Sam, just to make sure everything is as it was the previous time she checked her, and it has been. Then, Kara has stepped out of the room a few times, just to go and update everyone else, and basically let them know there is no update, they are just waiting. Obviously, this waiting is really killing Alex, more than anyone, as she is desperate to have her wife back, and for things to return to somewhat of a normalcy, but Kara and Lena are also desperate for all of this to be over too, both for Sam's sake, and because it's just been a very long couple of days for Kara and Lena. Over the last few days, Kara and Lena have travelled into space, into the unknown, found Argo, found that Alura, Kara's mom, is alive, managed to persuade the council of Argo to give them some harun-el, came back to Earth, studied the harun-el, fought Reign, saved Sam, watched Sam 'die', watched Reign flee, and now realise Sam is alive and wait. Kara and Lena have truly been through the ringer, and the duo just really really want to get back home to their children, as even though it's only been a few days, they miss them, so much. Of course, Kara and Lena could have phoned up Eliza and Elizabeth, who are watching the girls right now, and got them to put Morgan and Alura on, so they could speak with them, but they decided against this, knowing that it would just make them want to see their girls that much more. So, Kara and Lena's updates have just been through a few texts sent to Eliza, and while that has put them at a little ease, it's still not enough.

Presently, it is about 3 in the afternoon, and both Kara and Lena have been going since they got back last night, and the two women are pretty exhausted right now, but neither of them intend to call it a day until they know that Sam is alive and okay. Thankfully though, soon enough everyone's prayers are answered, when after such a long time, Sam finally starts to move on the gurney, under the yellow sun lamps, signalling that she is about to actually wake up.

"Sam!" Alex gasps, and makes a move to walk forward, but soon stops herself, remembering that she can't be under the yellow sun lamps, for her own sake.

Lena now quickly moves to Sam's side again, and starts off by feeling Sam's pulse point, which still feels good, and strong. After this, Lena places a hand over Sam's heart, and presses one of her ears to Sam's chest, wanting to check her heart and her breathing once more.

"Hmmm...... get off....." Sam mumbles.

Everyone's eyes now go wide, because Sam has literally just spoken her first words, which is the best sign yet that they have that everything is going to be okay, and Sam will survive.

"Sam?" Lena says, now just standing over Sam, looking down at her.

Sam simply mumbles, without opening her eyes or anything, clearly in a state where she is very tired, and feels like she doesn't want to wake up.

"Sam." Lena says, and now lightly shakes Sam's side, "I need you to open your eyes for me, please."

Sam now lets out a little groan, before finally opening her eyes, her eyes connecting straight with Lena. Upon this happening, Lena doesn't let out an actual sigh of relief, but internally she very much does. Lena is just so glad that Sam is awake, and seems to be okay.
