A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 259 - Renovations Complete!

It is now a few days later, and the article that Nia has written, announcing Lena's pregnancy to the world, including their interview, has been released. The responses from it have been somewhat mixed, although not about how the article itself has been written. Nia did a wonderful job. The mixed responses have just been about Lena's pregnancy itself. There have, of course, been some homophobic comments about her being married to a woman, and having another baby. Then there have been comments about how she's a Luthor, and her children are in danger from her. Following on from that, there have also been some sexist comments about how she expects to continue to run L-Corp as the CEO will nursing a new born. But thankfully there have also been some nice positive comments, congratulating her on the pregnancy, and making some nice comments about Lena and Kara's family. All in all, despite the negative comments that Lena has seen because of the article, she thinks that there are more positive comments about her than there usually is when an article is written about her, and much fewer negative comments. The only problem is Lena experiences the same thing that everyone online experiences. You could receive thousands and thousands of wonderful positive comments, and only a few negative comments, but the negative comments will always stick with you the most.

Thankfully, since the article has been released, Kara has been by Lena's side the whole time, supporting her and everything, not wanting her wife, and baby mamma, which is something Kara has taken to calling Lena now, to get into her own head, and go down the road of all those negative thoughts. This has really been helping Lena, and she has mostly decided to just stop reading all the comments, and just spend more time with her family. These past few days alone they have watched at least 5 different Disney movies, really working on getting Morgan up to speed on all the films, and she has absolutely been loving them. Morgan has particularly been enjoying the singing ones, which are also Kara and Alura's favourites. Admittedly, they are kind of Lena's favourite ones too, although not because of the films themselves. Lena enjoys them because whenever she watches them with her family, she gets to see Kara, Alura, and now Morgan, sing along to all the songs, and that is a truly magical thing to see.

Today though, aside from the article itself, there is some more exciting news for Kara, Lena, Morgan and Alura. Lena has just got word from the builders that all the renovations on their new house has finally been complete, meaning that they can move into their new home, and no longer have to live in their penthouse. Of course, Lena still plans for them to keep the penthouse, just so they have a place in the city to go to. Lena thinks that on nights that she might need to work late, or when they want to have a game night with everyone, their penthouse might be the ideal place to stay. Plus, Lena also thinks that once she, Kara and the girls have moved out of the penthouse, then maybe Lillian and Elizabeth can move in there for now, instead of having to live in The Tower. That way the two grandparents may still not be able to freely go outside, because of the threat of Leviathan, but they will be living in a place which is more of a home, compared with The Tower itself. Ultimately though, Lena is really excited to finally get to move into their new home, as she really is looking forward to their being more space for the girls to run around and play in. Plus, a part of Lena has been worried that maybe the house wouldn't be done for another month or so, meaning that they would either be moving in right after she gives birth, or right before, neither of which being ideal situations. So, Lena thinks that moving in will kind of settle some of her nerves about the baby coming so soon, and only in a few months, if that. Lena really wants them to move in and start work on a baby room right away.

Presently, Kara and Lena have just finished work for the day, and have picked Alura and Morgan up from spending another day at The Tower, and are now just arriving at their new home, ready to check it out, and assess to see if everything is in order for them to move in, likely this upcoming weekend.
