It is now about an hour later, and Kara is just returning to The Tower now, after making sure that Sam, Ruby and Alex are all settled, and have everything they need. Thankfully, the trio seem to be very happy and settled, and the last time Kara saw them, Alex was planning to go out into the yard to enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the fresh air, with Sam planning to join her. Then, as for Ruby, she simply asked Kara if it would be okay for her to go swimming in the pool. Kara, of course, told her that it would be more than okay, but Alura and Morgan would likely want to join her too, and therefore an adult would need to be present to just watch them all, just in case something were to happen, even though Morgan, Alura and Ruby are all decent to good swimmers by this point. Ruby accepted all of this from Kara, and told her she was okay with Alura and Morgan joining her, and in fact hoped they would. So, Kara then spoke with both Elizabeth and Alura, and Elizabeth said that she could watch the girls in the pool, while Alura stayed with Lori. In reality, this was actually the only option, unless they wanted Sam to watch the girls, because even though Alura is a kryptonian, and actually has some powers here on Earth, she does not know how to swim. This is because on krypton, even though swimming was a thing, it was not something that everyone learnt how to do, as it was not seen as a useful skill to have, as krypton only had one big ocean, with most of the planet being land rather than water, unlike Earth. Then where Alura grew up, and lived all their life, there was not really any big bodies of water nearby that you could swim in. This was all then on top of the fact that because of how kryptonian society was structured, each person is basically defined by their career path. So, Alura was defined, from a young age as someone on the path to becoming a judicator one day, and joining the high council, to basically be part of the governing body of society. This therefore meant that swimming would not have been seen as a useful skill for her to 'waste her time' learning, where she could instead have been studying kryptonian law and history. A career path on krypton more likely to see swimming as a useful skill to learn, would have been any military guild members, as they needed to be skilled in all sorts of combat situations. Then, some members of the science guild, including Kara's father, and Kara herself too, were able to learn swimming, as the theory was learning how to swim could be a useful skill to have as as a scientist you might need to be aware of that skill when inventing something that might focus on water.
By the time Kara left her and Lena's home, it seemed like everybody was very happy with what they were going to be doing with the rest of their day, with both Alura and Morgan being very excited about getting to go swimming with Ruby, and the last time Kara saw her daughters, they were running upstairs to go and get changed into their swimwear. Honestly, Kara doesn't know how many times she and Lena will need to tell Alura and Morgan not to run up the stairs, but for now, there is nothing Kara can do about it, and is just happy that the girls are going to have fun with Ruby in the pool. Admittedly, Kara does feel a bit guilty, as she knows that she and Lena really haven't spend much quality time with the girls over these last few weeks, and that is something that seriously needs to change. Yet another reason for them to want to finally deal with both Reign and Leviathan, and put that all behind them.
Upon returning to The Tower, Kara uses her super hearing, and from that can tell that Lena has made her way back into the monitoring room to watch Lillian, J'onn, Eliza and Winn continue with the experiment. Once inside the monitoring room though, Kara can immediately see how anxious Lena is becoming that they have not been able to make gold kryptonite yet. Kara is well aware that even though Lena has a scientific mind, and completely understands that you can't really rush these experiments, she is not a patient woman, especially in a situation like this where she can't be the one directly doing the experiment. Lena is also very much a perfectionist, and she would much rather she conduct an experiment, or do a task, to make sure that it is done 100% right than trusting other people to do it. This is one of the big reasons that Lena has such a heavy work load as the CEO of L-Corp, as there are very few people that she has complete and utter confidence in, meaning that Lena does a lot of work that most other CEO's would have just passed down the chain for other departments to take care of. The only real person Lena has full confidence in at L-Corp is Sam, but obviously her friend has not been working there for a while, due to the Reign thing. Lena does also have confidence in Eve, but Eve is still only her assistant, meaning that while Lena would trust a lot with her, she does not have 100% confidence in her like she did in Jess, her predecessor, with Jess obviously now managing CatCo, and therefore is not a person Lena can rely on at L-Corp.
