Kara eventually catches up to Reign right by National City, and once she does, Kara tackles Reign to the ground, with their impact creating a small crater in this part of National City. At the same time, there are several people around, and when Reign and Supergirl crash land into the ground, most of them go running away in fear, as expected.

After a few moments, both Reign and Kara get back up to their feet, and this time, instead of just flying up in the air again, the two begin to fight each other in hand to hand combat, like they did on their first fight. Kara is well aware that this puts her at a disadvantage, because she knows that Reign is a better fighter than her. However, Kara also knows that flying about from place to place really wasn't working, as there is just too much area, while they are flying, that they each can dodge one another's attacks. So, Kara just thinks she will have to focus, and keep in mind everything she has done to prepare for this fight with J'onn over the last few days. Then, at the same time, Kara also knows she has to keep the words of both Lillian and Lena in her head, about not letting herself die, and taking the tough decision if it's needed, even if Kara won't like doing it. But for now, all Kara needs to do is fight, so she does.

Kara and Reign start of swinging fists at one another, with each of them dodging, or just blocking the blows. At the same time, Kara sees that people are still running away from around them, and this isn't that surprising, seeing as the area that they have landed in in National City is actually a business area, so there are a lot of people here, which unfortunately means a lot of people Reign can put in danger. But, Kara knows she can't focus on that for now, and just continues to fight Reign, block punches, and moving out of the way of them, while also throwing some of her own, keeping her footwork in mind the whole time. Kara doesn't want to give Reign an easy opening like she did before.

Eventually, Kara swings a punch at Reign, which Reign dodges by moving a few steps backwards, slightly. However, in doing this, Reign makes the first mistake of the fight, as when she steps back, she trips over some small pieces of rubble, created by their landing a few minutes ago. Reign doesn't fall over though, she just loses her balance a bit, and it takes a moment just for the evil Kryptonian to regain it, but as she does this, Reign loses focus in her fight with Supergirl, and Kara strikes. Kara lands a punch square on Reign's jaw, sending her flying back into a cement pillar of a building. As Kara does this, the blonde becomes hopeful that maybe she actually can win this fight, although she knows it is far from over yet, so she follows up her attack by quickly moving over to Reign, and going in for another one. Kara knows that really, to end this fight, and to actually put Reign in a cell, she needs to knock her out, to give them time to move her into the cell Lena and Winn have made. That is how this fight has to end.

As Kara arrives on Reign, to make her follow up swing, at the last moment, Reign moves out of the way, causing Kara's fist to go straight into the concrete pillar behind Reign. This, of course, doesn't hurt Kara or anything, but it does mean that for a brief moment, Kara has her back to Reign, and Reign takes advantage of this. Once Reign moves out of the way, she quickly aims a kick at the back of one of Kara's legs, causing the blonde to want to fall to the ground, as one of her legs is giving out from under her. In this moment, Kara does decide to fall to the ground, but only because she realises, thanks to some quick thinking, that the best way to get out of falling down, is to act like she is falling to the ground, before quickly flying along the ground, and passing by Reign's legs, while grabbing one to trip the other Kryptonian up, sending her crashing to the ground too.

After this, Reign and Kara take a few moments to recover, and get back up to their feet, but once they do, they go charging towards one another, and start a very brutal fight. This time, both Reign and Kara connect their fists with the other's body, landing many punches. The fight takes on a much less cautious element to it. Right now, Reign and Kara are more focused on hurting the other, than trying to avoid getting hurt themselves. This soon causes both of the Kryptonians to start to bleed a bit, here and there, and look a bit worse for wear.
