Request - Reader is a babysitter and she comes home to Kayce upset Kayce asks her what's wrong and she said she wants a baby so bad but didn't know how he would feel about it since he has Tate and little John (the baby makes it).

The drive back to your apartment wasn't too bad. The family you had a babysitting gig for only lived about twenty minutes away. You had started when you were in college and continued on the last few years. You knew you'd have to get a full-time job soon, but the kids were too cute, and you were too attached.

You wanted children of your own. You had since you were little. But your romantic life these days is complicated when it comes to future talks. You had been dating Kayce Dutton for about two years now. Things were good on that front, you loved Kayce and you knew he loved you. But Kayce had two sons from his previous marriage that didn't work out.

Would Kayce want more kids? Would he want kids with you? You had always been worried about having those conversations because you didn't want to upset Kayce or make him feel like he wasn't enough for you. If you spent the rest of your days with Kayce and only Kayce, you'd be fine.

But you wanted a baby.

Your phone started to ring. The screen showed a picture of you and Kayce when the two of you had been relaxing in the warm springs up on his family's ranch last month. You had taken the photo while Kayce's arms were wrapped around you from behind.

"Hey," You answered.

"Hey, baby," Kayce's voice filled your car. "What're you doing?"

"Just got done at the Jameson's," You sighed.

"What's wrong?" Kayce asked.

"Nothing," You answered a little too quickly. "Just tired...been a long week."

"Come here," Kayce said. "I'm making chili."

"No beans?" You asked.

"Sure, Texas...no beans," Kayce chuckled.

"Okay, I'll see you soon."

Thirty minutes later you were walking into the foreman's cabin on the Dutton Ranch. Tate and John were with their mom, so it was just you and Kayce tonight. You saw him at the stove, stirring the large pot when he looked over his shoulder.

"Hey," Kayce said as you walked over.

You passed John's highchair and felt a stab in your heart. You loved both him and Tate, but they weren't...yours. And with Monica how she was, she'd never let you forget that. You got lost in your thoughts and didn't answer Kayce. When he reached out and touched your waist you jumped.

"What's wrong?" Kayce asked you with a concerned look. "Don't say nothing either."

"I'm just tired," You tried.

"Don't lie," Kayce said.

"Technically it's not a lie," You gave him a half smile. "I don't know...just with babysitting those kids today was just a little heavy on that subject for me."

"What subject?" Kayce leaned back against the island.

"Kids," You watched his facial expression, but it didn't change.

"Were they bad or something?" Kayce was looking at you for help.

"No, they never are," You shook your head. "The opposite actually."

"You're gonna have to help me out here, baby," Kayce smiled softly at you. "I'm not following what you need me to."

You took a deep breath.

"I want a baby, Kayce," You said, swallowing harshly.

Kayce's eyes widened for a second before he crossed his arms.

"A baby?" He asked.

"I know...that you have Tate and John, and this might not be something you want to do, and I can understand that," You explained. "And I love them, you have to know that I love those two boys."

"I know you do," Kayce nodded his head slowly.

"But I want a baby...one that I carried and gave birth to," You sighed. "And I want a baby with you."

Kayce surprised you by smiling at you, his eyes relaxing into that love-drunk look he sometimes gives you.

"How long has this been eating at you?" Kayce asked.

"A while" you muttered, blushing.

"Come here," Kayce opened his arms out to you.

You step into his arms and let him wrap them around you, pulling you flush against him. You looked into his warm eyes.

"You want a baby with me?" Kayce asked you.

"I do," You nodded, wrapping your arms around his neck. "Would you want a baby with me?"

Kayce answered by kissing you deeply. The kind of kiss that took your breath away and had you weak in the knees when he pulled back from you.

"Okay," Kayce kissed you again, this time slowly.

"Okay?" you asked before he kissed you again.

Kayce stood up to his full height and cupped your cheeks. His lips brushed against yours as he spoke.

"Let's make a baby," Kayce's lips pressed against yours.
