Request - The reader has endometriosis and is having a flare-up; well she's supposed to be lying in bed one of the guys called her to help out so she does despite the pain. Kayce eventually comes to help out as well and when he sees the reader, he's first confused but then angry at whoever made her get out of bed, but the reader just says it's fine it's my job or something. Maybe Kayce takes her back to bed?

You were walking as if there was something wrong on your left side. You knew you should still be in bed, but there wasn't enough staff on the ranch today and they needed help in tagging the calves this morning. So, when Ryan called you...here you were to help.

It was painful. If walking was uncomfortable, being up on a hose was brutal. But you were able to move each cattle into the correct lines and help out enough. When asked what was wrong with you, you simply shrugged it off.

But the sun was getting high now and it was warm. When you were in pain like this, the heat never helped you. You felt lightheaded and in desperate need to lie down...but there were still two corrals of cattle.

Two large trucks pulled up and Kayce and Rip jumped out. You got nervous, remembering early this morning when Kayce was leaving, and you told him you were having a flare-up. He told you to stay in bed and get some rest, that he'd check on you once he got back.

"We've got two more rounds, then we'll be done," Lloyd said to Kayce and Rip.

"Good, I need to go check on Y/N but I'll be back," Kayce nodded.

"Y/N?" Lloyd said and you frowned. "She's here."

"What?" Kayce asked but followed where Lloyd was pointing, and his eyes met you.

"Who the fuck made her come out?" Kayce asked.

"I don't know," Lloyd shrugged. "She's been helping since this morning.

"Oh no," You slid off your horse and handed the reigns to Carter as you walked over to where Kayce was.

"What's wrong?" Ryan came up to Kayce.

"Who made Y/N come down here?" Kayce snapped.

"I called her," Ryan shrugged, but then Kayce shoved him back. "The hell? We needed help!"

"You don't make those calls," Kayce growled.

"Kayce!" You called out, standing there holding your side.

Kayce sent one more glare to Ryan before walking over to you.

"What're you doing out here?" Kayce asked you.

"Apparently watching my boyfriend act like some animal," You shoved his shoulders but obviously it didn't move Kayce. "What is wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me?" Kayce laughed. "What's wrong with you?"

You frowned.

"Baby...you don't feel good," Kayce lowered his voice with a sigh. "Why're you out here?"

"They needed help," You shrugged.

"You don't have to do this work anymore," Kayce tilted your chin up to look him in the eyes. "You ain't a wrangler anymore."

"I still can help," You sighed. "I don't want...just because I'm with you now, doesn't mean I get special treatment."

"That's exactly what it means," Kayce smirked. "Wranglers don't get to sleep in my bed when they don't feel good."

"This ain't funny," You pushed his hand away from him. "I'm not some ranch princess...it's still my job."

"Not when you don't feel good," Kayce sighed. "Let me get you back in bed, please?"

"I'm fine," You said again, but the thought of pillows, blankets, and maybe getting Kayce to hold you for a while was very tempting.

"Okay, how about this," Kayce put his hands on his hips. "Either you get your ass back in bed...or I'll carry you back to bed and make a huge scene in front of everyone about leaving you alone and not making you work because like it or not, baby...you are above all these guys now."

Your frown got deeper as you looked up at Kayce.

"Screw you," You turned around and started to walk back to the foreman's cabin.

You heard Kayce following you but ignored him. You ignored him as you got inside and made your way back to the bedroom. You ignored him as you kicked your botos off and pulled your jeans off. You ignored him as you crawled under the covers again and rested against the pillows.

Kayce walked over and sat down on the bed next to you. He reached out and ran his fingers through your hair, even though he knew how irritated you were at him.

"Feel better?" He asked softly.

"No," You muttered, not wanting him to feel like he knew what you needed more than you did.

Kayce sighed before he moved to stretch out behind you, his arms wrapping around you. He pulled you back to rest against his chest as his hands covered your lower stomach. One of his thumbs rubbed circles under your shirt and you relaxed more back into him.

"Better now?" Kayce asked.

"Maybe," You sighed, and Kayce chuckled.

"Ain't no one here but us," Kayce said.

You rolled onto your back to look over and up at Kayce. He smiled down at you and suddenly the tough, hard cowboy boss was gone, and your Kayce was back with you.

"Thank you," You sighed, feeling your eyes get tired.

"Go to sleep," Kayce pressed a kiss to your forehead. "I'll come wake you when we're done."

"Okay..." You let him win this time and snuggled back into the blankets and pillows.
