Request - Maybe do one where she's Beth's assistant and has been for a while and she was there when Beth was attacked and kasey came to save her and she ended up getting hurt to the point that she needed like some type of physical therapy rehab and he was with her every step of the way, and they fell in love.

You shot straight up in bed. Gasping, you tried to catch your breath as your chest heaved up and down. Reaching with your hands, you pressed against your chest, counting to thirty slowly. It was the only thing that would help when it was two in the morning, and you woke up alone. These incidences were becoming few and far between...but they still happened occasionally.

It was always the same dream...nightmare. You were back in Beth's office. She was at the conference table while you were on your knees. The man in the mask above you held the end of his rifle above your head, ready to smash it down across you. At the least, it would knock you out. At the most, he could hit you hard enough to kill you. You would see the gun come down and then you'd wake up.

Your physical wounds had all been healed up, except your arm. When the men had attacked, you had been thrown into the glass wall. It shattered, cutting you up but also damaging some of the nerves in your arm. You were currently going through your last month of physical therapy.

You took a shaky breath, feeling the cool air of your apartment come through your lungs finally. Blinking a few times, you reached over and picked up your phone. It was late, but you had made him a promise. Plus, when he picked you up for therapy here in six hours, he'd be able to tell you hadn't slept and he'd be upset you didn't call. Taking another breath, you hit his number.

"Hello?" Kayce's voice was groggy as he answered.

"Hey," You said softly.

"You okay?" Kayce was awake now.

"I'm okay," You nodded. "I just..."

"What?" Kayce asked. "Nightmare?"

"Yeah," You leaned back against your pillow, Kayce's voice already soothing you slightly.

"M'sorry," Kayce yawned. "Wanna talk about it?"

"Same one it always is," You frowned. "Just when I think I'm about to...I wake up."

"Deep breaths," Kayce told you.

"I just want to be passed this," You groaned.

"I know," Kayce yawned again.

"I'm sorry I woke you," You told him.

"Don't be," Kayce said. "I told you to call me when you felt like this."

"You've been really kind to me, Kayce," You said. "Much more so than expected."

"I'm sorry about what happened to you," Kayce told you. "You didn't deserve that."

"Neither did Beth," You reasoned.

"But you were attacked too," Kayce explained. "Beth's family and we've...this isn't the first time we've dealt with something like this. But you didn't need to be caught in the crosswires and you were...because of me and my family."
