Request - Would love to see a jealous female character and an oblivious Kacey.
"You're staring," Beth mumbled to you.
"I'm observing," You snapped back.
"You're obsessing," Beth laughed.
You turned and faced her.
"Why is she here?" You asked. "Tate's not here...so why is the ex-wife here without the only reason she has a connection still here."
"Why don't you ask your boyfriend that?" Beth smirked. "I didn't invite her."
"Tate was supposed to be here," You rolled your eyes. "That's why she was originally invited...but he had a friend invite him fishing...again though, why would she still come?"
"Maybe...and this could be a stretch," Beth joked. "But maybe it's because you haven't actually told your boyfriend his ex-wife makes you uncomfortable and now that you're in his life, you get priority over her now and that's okay, it's how it's supposed to be."
"Like you know anything," You mumbled.
"When Kayce said she was pulling up, what did you say to him?" Beth asked.
"I said...great," You groaned out in frustration.
"Go talk to him," Beth pushed your shoulder.
"I can't now," You sighed. "She's here, the ride's gonna take an hour to do."
"Y/N..." Beth sighed. "I know you, you're gonna get snippy, and poor Kayce's gonna feel lost and you and Monica will probably snap at each other and everyone else on this ride is going to be uncomfortable with the two of you."
"Then go ride up front with the men," You hissed before swinging your leg up to get on your horse.
John had gotten on his and everyone else made their way. Kayce had been helping Monica saddle her horse and now he made his way over to his, which was next to yours.
"Got yours settled?" Kayce asked you.
"I don't need help," You smarted back and heard Beth sigh from behind you. "Been riding horses since I was born."
Kayce gave you a funny look as he got on his horse. You glanced over at Monica who was watching the two of you. But when her eyes met yours she quickly looked away. Kayce however, saw your glare.
"What's wrong?" He asked you.
"Nothing's wrong," You said before you could stop yourself.
You kicked your horse and started to follow the group out and away from the barns. The group made their way over the pastures and down into one of the valleys to find the cattle that needed to be moved. You found yourself behind Monica, a place you consistently felt so why were you surprised?
Kayce was making his way back to what you thought was you, but Monica called out to him when he got close to her and he stopped to walk next to her. You could only hear bits of their conversation due to the wind and you being behind them.
"That's great," Kayce smiled over at her.
You heard Monica giggle and it made you grind your teeth. When you saw her playfully swat at Kayce's arm but miss, you had enough. You kicked your horse and took off straight through them, riding up to where Beth and Rip were in the front of the line. Slowing down next to Beth who looked over at you. Beth then glanced back at where you came from and you could only guess she saw Kayce and Monica's facial expressions from your little stunt.
"Will you fucking talk to him?" Beth asked you.
"I just wanted to come up here," You said.
"Kayce looked like you sucker punched him," Rip chuckled from the other side of Beth.
