Request - Kayce builds y/n her dream house. The reveal is super romantic and sweet. Y/n is super thankful and in awe of the attention to detail of the exterior and interior, she's mentioned in the past. The couple bask in the bliss of their new home and y/n wants to show her gratitude to Kayce in every way and every room possible.
"Excited?" Kayce asked as he drove up over one of the hills back beyond the main lodge of the Dutton Ranch.
"I mean, you've kept this from me for over six months, Kayce," You smiled at him. "I'm feeling all types of things right now."
For the past six months, Kayce had been working on the house the two of you would be moving into. You got married about eight months ago and while you loved the main lodge, it wasn't conducive for newlyweds. There were too many people around at all times...not to mention your father-in-law. While you loved John, there had been a few awkward moments of him knocking on your door when you and Kayce were...together.
"Ready?" Kayce slowed down right before a bend in the road behind some trees.
You took a deep breath and leaned forward in your seat.
"Ready," You smiled.
As Kayce drove around the bend you felt your mouth drop open. Nestled nicely in front of you was a beautiful farmhouse. It had a large wrap around the porch, large windows, and a cozy, inviting look to it. It was a good size, not as big as the main lodge, but more than a one-bedroom at least. Kayce pulled up to the front driveway and parked his truck. You looked over at him to see a sheepish look on his face.
"Kayce..." you smiled at him.
"You approve?" He asked.
"Approve?" You laughed. "Kayce, it's beautiful!"
"Well, you ain't seen inside yet," He opened his door.
You followed him out, your eyes looking all over the front of the house as you walked up the front porch steps. Kayce opened the front door and stepped aside for you to walk in first.
There was a beautiful rub in the entrance that opened up to a warm living room. There was a fireplace surrounded by leather couches and chairs. Beyond that, you could see a large kitchen and island. You felt your heart burst at the thought of being able to cook meals in there. There was a dining space to the right of the kitchen, with a long table and eight chairs. It was perfect for visitors.
You stepped inside and saw a hallway around the entrance wall. You looked back at Kayce who was just smiling at you. Making your way down the hallway, you saw two bedrooms. One was a light green color and the other a warm yellow, with nice furniture for guests...for now. There was a curve in the hallway that led back to the main bedroom.
It was spacious, with a large bed in the center, a fireplace, and a seating area off to the side. There were large bay windows with a killer view of the mountain range on one end and an opening to the bathroom at the other. The bathroom had a large stand-alone tub, a spacious shower, and twin vanities. You walked back into the center of the room and looked at Kayce.
He was leaning against the doorway, watching you closely. He had a relaxed smile on his lips, but you could tell he was nervous. You hadn't been a part of the project. He had wanted to completely surprise you with it.
"Well?" Kayce asked you.
You took a deep breath.
"Kayce..." You smiled at him. "This whole thing is perfect...it's...it's us."
"Yeah?" He pushed off and walked over to you.
"Yes," You reached up and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. "Thank you."
