Request – The Reader gets arrested, and Kayce has to come get her. Maybe she was in a bar fight alongside Beth or something? Kayce's cute and makes fun ike the Reader is all tough or something? Thank you!

"How are you so calm?" You asked Beth.

"Because I've done this before," Beth smirked, looking up at the ceiling. "This ain't my first rodeo."

"That doesn't make me feel better," You sighed, leaning back against the concert walls.

You were seated on a metal bench in the drunk tank of the local sheriff's department. You and Beth had been taken in about an hour ago after Beth decided to smash her beer bottle against another woman's head when you were out for drinks. It had turned into a bar fight as you were drug in along with the other woman's friend.

Maybe the woman did deserve it...but now that you were inside, you were worried. You had never been arrested before. You had never even been pulled over for speeding. Not that you were some prude, but you followed the law.

"You're shaking the whole fucking bench," Beth muttered.

You stopped your knee from bouncing and glared at her.

"Forgive me...this is my first time," You snapped. "Who did you end up calling anyway to come get us?"

"Someone you'll love to see you in here," Beth smirked, her eyes lowering to look at you.

"You didn't," You panicked.

"What's wrong?" Beth asked. "You afraid for him to see you for who you truly are?"

"This isn't who I truly am, thought," You turned more to face Beth. "Plus, he's been over in Billings the last three days working and was supposed to be sleeping tonight."

"Well, he just walked in," Beth looked over your shoulder.

You turned and saw Kayce walk into the reception area. There was a glass window behind the desk where he started to sign some papers. A guard opened the door to the left.

"Dutton and Y/L/N?" He looked up.

Beth smiled and stood up, walking over and past the guard. You slowly stood, tugging the black dress you had been wearing down, and walked over to the guard, not sure of what to do.

"You're being discharged," He nodded. "You're free to go."

"Thanks," You muttered, walking past him, and pushing open the door into the waiting area.

Kayce looked up from where he was leaning against the counter with Beth standing next to him. His eyes were tired, but he held a smirk on his lips as you walked up to him.

"I'll be in the truck," Beth said, walking out.

"Hey fighter," Kayce looked at you.

"Kayce..." You sighed.

"At least tell me you got a hit in?" Kayce eyed the bruise probably forming on your left cheek.

"I don't know what happened," You sighed. "It was like all of a sudden some chick took a swing at me and then your sister was throwing bottles...I don't even know what I did."

"That's called a bar fight, Y/N," Kayce chuckled, leaning to stand over you.

He reached up and held your cheek that hadn't been hit. He tilted your head to the side and up some, looking at your face for more damage. His hand was warm against your skin, making you shut your eyes and lean into his touch.

"I think you'll make it," Kayce smiled as you opened your eyes.

"I'm sorry she called you," You muttered. "I know you were trying to sleep."

"Gotta say," Kayce said. "Never thought I'd get this phone call about you."

He reached around your back and pushed you gently to walk in front of him. Opening the door, Kayce led you out into the cooler night air. His truck was running off to the side as you walked over to the passenger seat, Beth was already asleep in the back.

"Thank you," You turned and looked up at Kayce.

"Next time...call me before you start to swing," Kayce brushed some hair over your shoulder. "Or just let me do your fighting."

"I didn't start this!" You gasped. "I was a bystander to your sister's behavior!"

"Whatever you say, Tyson," Kayce winked.

"Kayce," You reached out and held his arms. "I am not a fighter...you know this."

"It's like I don't even know who you are anymore," Kayce smirked. "Picking you up from the station with a bruised cheek and smelling like cheap beer and cigarettes."

You then figured out he was joking with you. You pushed against his chest, laughing.

"You're such a dick," You rolled your eyes.

Kayce pulled you in for a hug, wrapping his arms around you. You sighed, relaxing into his chest, and closing your eyes for a moment.

"I did get one good hit in," You mumbled, and Kayce started laughing.

"I bet you did, baby," Kayce let you go and opened your door for you. "Let's get you both back before you do more damage to this town."

You stuck your tongue out at him as he shut your door and walked around to the driver's side. A few minutes into the drive Beth woke back up.

"Y/N...we should do this every Friday night," Beth smiled from the backseat.

"I am never going to a bar with just you again," You rolled your eyes.

"Kace," Beth laughed. "She knocked this one bitch out cold with a backhanded swing...it was amazing."

Kayce glanced over at you with a smile.

"Bout to knock you out," You mumbled from your seat.

"She may make it in this family after all," Beth nodded with a smile.
