Request - The reader is enjoying the snow with Tate and John (the baby that died) Kayce just stares at them and Beth Dutton looks at them and tells her brother to marry her or she'll find someone who does (a wrangler readers close to that works on the ranch)

Christmas was still three weeks away, but it came early to the Dutton Ranch. About a foot of snow fell over the night, leaving everything looking like a winter wonderland when people opened their curtains the next morning. You remember being landed on as Tate ran into the bedroom. He jumped up, in between you and Kayce, and was yelling to come look at the snow.

That was three hours ago.

Now you were holding John, who was two, on your hip as Tate tried to show him how to make a snowball. John had seen snow before, this was Montana, but you giggled at how John would swat at the snow in Tate's hand each time Tate tried to roll it.

"John!" Tate sighed out of frustration. "You're never gonna learn if you keep doing that."

"Who do you sound like?" You laughed and tugged Tate's hat down lower so it covered his ears more.

"Y/N," Tate looked at you. "He's gotta know...who else is supposed to help me in combat?"

"Combat?" Your eyes widened. "You are you fighting?"

"Dad, duh!" Tate grabbed another handful of snow.

At the mention of Kayce, your eyes looked over to where he had pulled out some sleds from the shed out back. It took him a while to find them, but there was a hill out in the valley that was perfect for sledding and Kayce promised Tate a ride out there after lunch.

"Will you be on my team, Y/N?" Tate's question made you look back down.

"I think your dad might need more help," You laughed, adjusting John on your hip.

"Tate," John said, waving his hands around.

"Are you gonna hit my hands again?" Tate asked his brother.

You bit your lip.

John looked up at you. While Tate had a lot of his mother's traits, John favored Kayce more. His blonde curls and lighter eyes made your heart flutter as you smiled down at him. His cheeks were turning a bit too pink for your liking though.

"How about some lunch?" You offered the boys instead. "Then maybe a quick nap and then sledding for the rest of the afternoon."

"The whole afternoon?" Tate asked, his eyes huge.

"If I can get a nice nap out of both of you," You nodded.

"Deal!" Tate took off running into the house.

You sat John down on the ground and watched him hobble after his brother. Kayce smiled at his boys as he walked up to you.

"How'd you get that to happen?" Kayce asked you.

"I promised them an afternoon of sledding if they both took a nap after lunch," You shrugged. "They just don't remember they nap at least an hour."

"Knew you were a smart one," Kayce wrapped his arms around you.

"Mmm," You giggled. "Thanks for finding the sleds."

"My back already hurts," Kayce leaned down.

"You're such a good daddy," You pressed your lips to his in a sweet kiss.

"Thanks for playing with the boys too," Kayce mumbled, leaning his forehead against yours. "I like watching the three of you together."

"I love them," You smiled up at Kayce.
