Request - y/n is pregnant with kayces kid, but they aren't together for some reason, maybe the readers Beth's best friend? You can choice the rest :)
Your eyes found Beth sitting in the back of the small café she had asked you to meet her in. You walked back, weaving around the chairs and sat down in front of her. Beth put her mug down that you were sure had more than just coffee in it.
"Thanks, for meeting me," Beth said.
"You asked," You shrugged. "Hard to say no to Beth Dutton."
"After all these years?" Beth smirked.
"I saw you at the Chamber Christmas party last year," You rolled your eyes. "But what can I do for you, Beth?"
"You can tell me what my brother needs to do to win you back," Beth said.
You tensed up at the mention of Kayce Dutton. The two of you had ended things about a month ago, a heated argument where both of you were drunk and angry. But you had enough of his fighting on the ranch. You had enough of his sneaking off at odd hours with his father, putting himself in danger, risking everything the two of you were working towards.
"What makes you think I want him back?" You asked Beth.
"Because you're pregnant," Beth snipped back.
"H-How do you know that?" You stuttered, lowering your voice. "I went to the clinic last week."
"And I used to babysit the receptionist," Beth shrugged. "Everyone owes me something."
"Shit, Beth," You ran your fingers through your hair. "I don't...I don't even know..."
"What?" Beth asked. "You don't know if it's Kayce's."
"Screw you," You frowned. "You know that's not me or Kayce."
"Sorry," Beth held up her hands. "Then what don't you know."
"How to even do this," You shrugged. "Should I do this? It wasn't planned...we were usually careful, but I guess we weren't one time."
"That's usually all it takes," Beth smirked. "Do you want my opinion?"
"Feel like I'm gonna get it even if I don't," You raised an eyebrow at her.
"Don't do it unless you're sure," Beth said. "There are enough unwanted children in this world...don't add to it. But don't do it alone either...if you're gonna do it, then Y/N you deserve to have a partner with you in this."
"Do you wanna be my partner?" You asked with a soft smile.
"No," Beth laughed. "But I know a cowboy who would literally scorch the Earth for you, bend over backwards for you, and even kill for you."
"That' part of the problem, Beth," You sighed. "I can't handle that life...your life...that whole world on the ranch."
"Sure, you can," Beth said with a nod. "You just need to adapt to it instead of fight it."
"But I don't agree with everything," You said.
"Adapting isn't agreeing," Beth shook her head. "But I honestly can't look at my brother for one more day and see his pathetic face. You need to come back; you both need each other."
"Why is his face pathetic?" You asked.
"He's..." Beth trailed off. "He's fighting anything that breathes wrong in his eyes. He's taking stupid risks with work because he doesn't think it matters anymore...you're not there for him to come home to."
