Request - Can you do one where they are broken up, and they see each other in public and maybe Kacey is with someone else (maybe his dad's assistant) but she gets the wrong idea and is really upset and Kacey changes after her and they make up!

"I told you this was a bad idea," You hissed at your friend.

"You and Kayce have been broken up for three weeks, Y/N," Your friend said. "You've got to learn to be okay with seeing him in public...plus, I didn't know he'd come here tonight."

"His family ranch is one of the sponsors," You snapped.

"I didn't read it close enough," Your friend sighed. "I'm sorry...do you want to leave?"

"No, that'll make it more obvious," You crossed your arms in the chair.

You and your friend had come to the benefit concert for a local wildfire relief aid group. A few of the larger ranches in Montana had come together to host it, meaning the Dutton Family was out in full force. They were a few tables over from yours, Kayce's whole family. You hadn't seen them since you and Kayce had your teary goodbye through screams and heartaches. You had missed him every minute since, but you were too stubborn to do anything about it.

Kayce was sitting down next to his sister. He looked good...he always looked good...but he also looked sad. Maybe you were the only one who could tell though. Since his divorce almost five years ago, you had been the only person Kayce had allowed to get close to him again. His eyes looked across the crowd and right before you knew they'd rest on you, you looked away.

"You want a beer?" Your friend asked.

"Please," You watched her get up.

You counted to ten, thinking Kayce would have looked away from you by this point. Slowly, you let your eyes wander back over to his table. Thinking if you did lock eyes with him, it would at least appear by accident.

Kayce wasn't looking at you though. He was standing up now, talking to a young brunette girl. You felt your heart race. Who was that? You didn't recognize her, so she wasn't from here. Kayce then reached out, holding her arm as he laughed. The woman also laughed, pointing at John who shook his head at them as if it was all some inside joke.

Your heart was in pain now. Obviously, you knew after breakups people tended to date other people. But this was too much for you too soon. Did Kayce not miss you at all? Had he not laid awake in his bed, night after night, with his fingers itching to call you and say sorry? You watched them for a few seconds longer and then stood up quickly.

You hadn't noticed your friend had come back with two beers. The beers though, were now all over the table and floor since you had hit them standing up so fast. The commotion had made everyone around you look over, including Kayce. Your cheeks were burning as you refused to look at him, reaching down with napkins along with your friend.

"Are you okay?" You asked her.

"Are you?" She gave you a sad look. "Y/N...what was that?"
