Request - What if she is shopping and there is a robbery at the store she's shopping at, and everyone is held hostage and she gets like semi-injured, and Kacey has to try and save her or something?

What did I do? What did I do? What did I do?

Those words kept playing over and over inside your mind as you tried to keep your breathing calm. All you had wanted to do was stop by the store for some more of your favorite lavender conditioner. It was supposed to take two minutes tops, but now you had been inside the store for almost two hours.

More specifically, you've been lying face down on the ground near the cash register section. While you had been standing in line, a man came into the store. He fired off a gun three times, causing everyone to panic and try to run somewhere...anywhere.

But there weren't many options inside the small store. He had yelled for everyone to get down, so that's what you had done. You were close to an older woman to your left. It had taken her a while to get down and the man had been angry at her. When you tried to help, he swung his gun at you, hitting above your eyebrow and cutting your skin. It wasn't bad, but the dull headache you now had was starting to be a problem.

"Sir...if you'd just"

"Shut the fuck up!" The man yelled at the younger man behind the counter. "Everyone shut the fuck up!"

You took a shaky breath as you watched the man point the gun at the other guy.

"All the money," The man demanded.

"W-We don't have much cash," The younger guy held both his hands up.

"All the fucking money," The man yelled.

You watched the guy press a button and the cash register opened up. He pulled out a small wad of cash and handed it to the man. The gunman turned and pointed his gun at the few customers on the ground.

"Everyone...get out all the money you have," The man started to walk slowly around. "Give me jewelry too...everything...don't make a fucking wrong move or I'll blow your brains out!"

You looked down at your left hand. The pretty engagement ring sparkled back at you and in that moment you thought you would rather die than give this loser something so precious to you, something you had waited three years for.

Sliding up, on your knees you felt your muscles ache from the position you had been in. You removed your ring and placed it in your mouth right before the guy pointed to gun at you.

"Hey princess," He sneered, kneeling in front of you. "Gonna try and be the hero again or are you gonna be a good bitch a behave?"

You bit down on the ring, glaring at him. Slowly you reached into your bag and grabbed what little cash you had, handing it to him.

"Cat got your tongue?" The man asked as he snatched the money away.

You just blinked back, not wanting him to know you had the ring in your mouth. He stepped closer to you, his nose inches from yours. You breathed out raggedly as your eyes looked into his black ones. He raised the gun and held it under your jaw. You jerked slightly when you felt it press against your skin.

"Open your mouth," The man said.

You just stared back at him, shaking now.

"Open your fucking mouth, bitch," The man hissed.

You slowly shook your head from side to side. The man sneered at you and got up, stepping back and pointing the gun right between your eyes now. You felt like you were about to pass out as you looked up at him.

"Bitch," The man uttered and then shifted his finger to the trigger.

You closed your eyes and heard a gunshot go off. Something sprayed you slightly on your face but you didn't feel anything else. You didn't feel yourself getting shot...but you had never been shot so would you know? You slowly opened your eyes and saw the man now laying on the ground in front of you, a pool of blood spreading out from under him.

"Hands up!"

"Everyone hands up!"

"Stay calm!"

"Sherriff's department!"

"Hands up!"

Your eyes were wide as all of a sudden a dozen officers stormed inside and around all of you. You sank to the ground again as you realized what was now happening. Opening your mouth, the ring fell into your palm.

"Y/N!" Kayce's voice broke the white noise around you.

You looked up in time to see Kayce sweep you into his arms and pull you away from where you had been for the last few hours. He carried you to the counter and sat you down gently, his hands holding your hair back and checking you over.

"Are you hurt?" Kayce asked.

There was a lot of movement behind him but it turned a little fuzzy to you.

"Y/N...did he hurt you?" Kayce asked. "Shit."

His hand brushed your hair back from your forehead and you assumed he saw your cut. You tried to take a breath of air as Kayce continued to look over you. His hands cupped your face as he forced you to look at him.

"Baby?" Kayce asked gently. "Y/N...talk to me, please."

"Kayce..." You whispered out.

"I'm here," Kayce told you. "You're safe, I've got you."

His hands ran down your arms and stopped at your wrists. Your hand was still closed around your ring as Kayce gently pried your fingers open to see why. When he saw your ring he looked back up at you confused.

"H-He...he wanted it," You swallowed hard.

Kayce seemed to understand and took a deep breath, realizing that you were going to be okay. Besides your cut, physically you were alright. He sighed, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to your forehead before resting his against it.

"Let's get you cleaned up," Kayce said.

"Cleaned?" You asked him.

"C'mon," Kayce helped you down and walked you out of the store.

He made sure to keep his body in between you and whatever they were doing to the gunman's body. You sat down in the passenger seat of his truck as Kayce pulled out a first aid kit. He pulled out the wipes and looked at you. Holding your face, Kayce started to clean you up. You saw blood when he pulled the wipe back.

"What?" You held his wrist as you looked at the blood and then Kayce.

"I...um," Kayce cleared his throat. "I took the shot, baby...but you got...because you were so close to him. It's his...just let me clean you."

You let Kayce clean off the remaining splatters of blood on your skin before leaning back in the seat as he pulled out a band-aid for your cut. Once that was on, Kayce looked at you.

"You shot him?" You asked quietly.

Kayce only nodded his head.

"I didn't...I didn't know you were even here," You stuttered.

"I was here," Kayce tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear. "But when he got close to you...pointed that gun at you I couldn't take it anymore. I had the shot, so I took it."

You nodded slowly.

"Thank you," You looked at him.

Kayce looked down at your hand still holding your ring. He softly took it from you, sliding it back on your finger where it belonged. Kaye then leaned forward, tilting his head to the side and kissing you gently.
