Request - Maybe have Monica do something to female character, she tries to hide it from Kacey but maybe someone slips up and says something about it around Kacey and he goes all protective on female character, ( maybe Monica is just an ex girlfriend and no Tate) you can run with it however.

You hadn't been to the farmer's market in a few years. Pulling into a spot in the field, you got out of your car and grabbed your bags. Every Saturday during the summertime, the Reservation hosted a farmer's market on their lands. You walked over and started to look at the first few vendors. You bought some eggs and carrots, along with a jar of honey as you made your way down.

You were looking at these beautiful earrings when you heard it.

"That's the girl?" A woman's voice said off to the side from where you stood.

"Yeah...I don't get it," Another voice said.

"She's...nothing special," Said another.

"Keep it down."

That voice you knew. You tried to be discreet about it, glancing off and you confirmed. Monica Long was standing with two other women over there. Monica was your boyfriend's ex-girlfriend. They dated for a few years before a pretty nasty breakup. Then Kayce met you, and the two of you had been dating for almost a year now.

You took a deep breath and continued to look at the jewelry so it wasn't obvious you heard them.

"You're better than her," The woman said to who you assumed was Monica.

"Well, he's an idiot," Monica snickered and the others laughed.

Monica was pretty, you'd give her that. But her heart wasn't and you hated the stories you either had heard from others about Monica and Kayce's relationship or the ones he had told you throughout your time dating him. She was controlling, spiteful, and hated his family.

You knew you would have to walk past them to leave. Questioning what to say you adjusted your bag and took a deep breath. You walked a few steps, glancing over, and saw Monica watching you. Her look though made you change your mind about being nice. What you heard them say changed your mind about being nice. You gave her an unamused look and kept walking, but you didn't miss her statement to her friends.

"Told you she's a bitch," Monica said and they all laughed.

"Can I say again how happy I am it's you and not her here?" Beth told you after you had described what happened.

You were sitting with Kayce's older sister on the back porch. Kayce was finishing up a ride with his father and older brothers.

"She's..." You trailed off.

"Don't," Beth snapped. "Don't defend that bitch. Not after what she says about you."

"I've tried to be civil," You sighed. "I know it was a messy breakup, but I didn't have anything to do with it so why am I the bad guy?"

"Because she never could admit when she was the problem," Beth sipped her spiked hot tea.

You looked over to see Kayce and the others walking up. They looked happy like they always did after riding. You smiled as Kayce's eyes met yours and stood up from your seat as he got closer to you.

"You came early," Kayce smiled, kissing your cheek.

"Yeah," You shrugged. "I came from the market on the Reservation and you're on the way back to my house so I just thought I'd come here and not have to go back and forth."

"Good," Kayce said. "How was the market."

Beth let out a sarcastic laugh and you shot her a look.
