Request - What if the reader is Kayce's daughter (Tate's Twin) and instead of Tate being the one that is kidnapped, it's her and the people who took her cut her hair? (They shaved Tate's head but instead of shaving her head, they just cut it a shorter length) Basically like the episode/scene but with her instead of Tate.

Authors Note - I will say this was a tough one. I've never done a POV from Kayce's daughter, so not sure how this one will turn out. I'm used to love interests and not writing from a ten-year-old's POV Lol

You had never been this scared before. The men around you seemed to change with every day. Or maybe it was you who was changing every day? You were cold. You were tired. You missed your dad.

The bathroom they mostly kept you in was small. There was a mirror high on the wall, but the only time you had been able to look into it was when they cut your hair. You hated that they cut your hair. Your two braids of golden hair had been hacked off and what was left was a mop on top of your head. You had cried for hours after you saw your reflection, feeling ugly.

The music outside the bathroom door was turned on. The blaring sound was deafening as you sat in the tub. Your knees bent, arms around them, as you tried to block out the noise. It was just people screaming over and over things you couldn't recognize. They did this every night you had been there with them...however long that had been.

Another sound was heard though. You looked up from where your head was bent and listened. It sounded like a loud boom. A few seconds later another boom sounded. Then there was gunfire, that you could recognize over the screaming music. Tears welled up in your eyes again as you felt your heart beat fast. There was normal yelling over the music, along with more gunfire. You placed your hands over your head and closed your eyes.

You weren't sure how much longer it was, but you felt hands grab you. Your fight skills kicked in though, and you started to thrash about. You swung your fists and yelled loudly. Your feet kicked out in front of you as you tried to push away the hands holding you.

"Y/N!" Came a voice.

You continued thrashing around.

"Hey...stop...Y/N...it's me!" The voice sounded vaguely familiar to you.

"No!" You screamed, tears falling down your cheeks now.

"It's Daddy," The voice said. "Y/N...it's me...it's Daddy!"

You opened your eyes as your arms slowed down. You knew that voice. Suddenly everything in front of you came into focus. Your dad's face came into the picture...black paint covered most of it, but it was him. His eyes, the ones that matched yours, looked back at you.

"It's Daddy..." Kayce breathed out, checking over your limbs now. "It's alright, I've got you."

"Daddy?" You cried as he pushed back your hair from your face.

"Hey..." Kayce smiled. "It's me...You're okay."

"Daddy," You threw yourself at him, your arms wrapping around his neck.

Kayce pulled you into his chest. He pressed his lips to the top of your head as you cried in his arms. You stayed like that for a while, just sitting in the tub as Kayce held you close. You could hear other people walking around, but Kayce would block them each time they passed by the door.

Finally, someone came and told Kayce it was clear. He picked you up in his arms, making sure to tuck your face into his neck, and slowly made his way out of the bathroom. You figured you were in a house, but you didn't see any of it. Kayce held the back of your head to make sure as he walked outside.

You could smell the fresh air as he carried you still. When he slowed down, he removed his hand from your head and held your back. You looked up and saw an old trailer with bullet holes in the sides and busted windows. But Kayce quickly turned around and placed you into the back of his truck. You didn't let go of him though, your fingers gripping the vest he had on.

"Gimme a second, darlin'," Kayce stepped back and took the vest off.

Kayce handed the vest to one of the wranglers you recognized from the ranch. Kayce then got into the back of the truck with you while the other guy got into the driver's side. You clung to him again in the backseat as your dad held you on his lap. The two of you sat like that for the whole ride back to the ranch.

Your tears dried up as y'all pulled under the ranch sign and you leaned up from your dad's shoulder. You could see people waiting on the front porch, your brother Tate included.

"Y/N...?" Kayce rubbed your side so you would look at him. "Baby does anything hurt?"

"N-No," You stuttered.

"You sure?" He asked you.

You nodded your head, feeling really tired now as the truck pulled up. The door to your side opened up immediately and suddenly smaller arms were around you.

Your brother Tate hugged you tightly, making both of you fall into Kayce's arms. Fresh tears came to your eyes as you hugged him back. That's the ting with twins, you could feel Tate with you even though you had been a part. When Tate pulled back he looked at you and you saw his eyes go to your hair.

"Don't," You told him.

"Don't what?" Tate asked.

"Don't say it," You mumbled.

"Tate..." Kayce warned.

"You look like a girl," Tate said.

You ended up pushing him so hard he fell backward and would have fallen out of the truck had your grandpa John not been there to catch him. While the past few days had been terrible for everyone involved, your actions caused everyone to start laughing.

"I look better than you!" You yelled at your brother, causing another round of laughter to pass through the small crown.

Your dad pulled you close and kissed your temple.

"Let's get you inside and cleaned up," Kayce said.

He got out and turned back to hold his hand out to you.

"Will you carry me?" You asked him softly.

Kayce smiled at you and scooped you into his arms again. You sighed as he walked back into the house, feeling safe and sound.
