---------------

Come on (Y/n), you can do this. Time to put all your knowledge to the test. This is a simple case, at least it should be, there is a lot of incriminating evidence that points to the defendant. I thought to myself, pacing back and forth in the Prosecutor's Lobby of the courthouse. I was so nervous it was my first trial and I didn't want to make a fool of myself. I was cut from my thoughts by a voice speaking, "Miss (L/n) are you ok? You're pacing."

I snapped out my daze and looked up at the person, shit. "Chief Prosecutor Edgeworth Sir! Sorry, you I was pacing. I'm just so nervous. Also, not to be rude, but if you don't mind me asking, why are you here?"

"I'm here to help you, Miss (L/n). Wright's on the defence."

"Why?! Why does life do this to me!? He's one of the best attorneys out there!" I started pacing again before sliding down on a wall and softly crying, "Maybe, I'm just not cut out to be a prosecutor," I cried, taking my badge out my pocket and running my thumb over it before putting it back in said pocket and crying more.

"(Y/n), look at me. You are cut out to be a prosecutor. Don't let Wright being on the case worry you."

"Really?"

"Of course, I wouldn't have given you the case, if I didn't believe in you."

"Thank you Mr Edgeworth!" I said hugging him not noticing the faint blush on his cheeks.

"Ready (Y/n)?"

"As I'll ever be, Mr Edgeworth!"

"Now that's the (Y/n) I know and love!" I released the hug at hearing this, "Did you just say what I think you said?" The blush on his cheeks increased, "I have no idea what you're talking about."

This disheartened me slightly, he may have been my superior but I had still developed a crush on him.

"Miss (L/n), the trial's starting," one of the bailiffs spoke.

"Thank you," I replied snapping out my daze and walking into the courtroom.

--------------------

"Court is now in session. Are the defence and- Chief Prosecutor Edgeworth! Why are you here?"

"I'm helping Miss (L/n) out, Your Honour. It is her first trial after all."

"Oh. Miss (L/n), are you ready?"

"Yes, Your Honour. The Prosecution is ready," I answered, nerves calming down.

"Is the defence ready?"

"The defence is ready, Your Honour," Wright replied smirking. I glared at him, You think you can win just because I'm a rookie? We'll see about that, Wright. I was cut from my mental 'trash talk' about Wright by the Judge speaking, "Miss (L/n), your opening statement."

"Yes, Your Honour..."

----------

"I now pronounce the defendant Dick Tate, guilty! Court is adjourned!"

I won, I won my first case. Yay! I walked out the courtroom with a smile on my face. "Well done, (Y/n)."

"I wouldn't have won if it weren't for your help, Mr Edgeworth. Thank you."

"Rough time Mr Wright! You tried your best though!"

We turned round at the voice to see Wright along with his employees. They spotted us and walked over, "Miss (L/n), well done. For a rookie you good."

"Thank you Mr Wright. You did well too."

"not good enough, it seems. Oh well, you can't win them all can you?"

"no you can't. But you can still try your best! Now if you'll excuse me, my mum wanted to know hoe my first trial went," I spoke walking away from the group and pulling my phone out calling my mum.

--------------

I put my phone back in my pocket, and just as I did Athena jumped on my back, "Hey (Y/n)! I was told to give this to you. Don't know what it is or who it's from," she said handing me a small piece of paper, before walking back to the group. I unfolded the paper and read what it said;

"(Y/n), ever since I've known you, I've had these 'unnecessary feelings' and now I'm realising they are necessary. I've fallen for you and I've fallen hard. You were the one there for me after DL-6 and seeing you happy makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Basically what I'm trying to say is 'I love you' and I was wondering whether you returned those feelings.

Edgeworth.

Ps, Wright had to help me with this note."

I giggled at the note before putting it in my pocket and walking back to the group, making sure I was behind Edgeworth and motioning for everyone to stay quiet. I snuck up and wrapped my arms round him, "Yes."

Everyone looked confused except Wright who was smirking fuck off and Edgeworth himself, who now had a bright red face.

"Yes what?" Trucy asked.

"Yes I do return your feelings," I replied. I then felt Edgeworth unwrap my arms from him and turn round facing me, "In that case, can I kiss you?"

"Still as gentlemanly as ever, I see," I spoke grabbing his cravat and pulling him into me, kissing him and wrapping my arms round his neck soon feeling his round my waist. I smiled into the kiss and deepened it. We eventually had to pull away for air and when we did I asked, "Did Wright really help you write the note? This really doesn't sound like him."

"I had nothing to do with anything!"

We were both shocked at this and I looked to Athena to see her with a sheepish look on her face, "You wrote it didn't you?"

"No of course I didn't!" I stared her down, "Ok fine! Yes I wrote it! It was driving me crazy. Mr Wright told us that Mr Edgeworth's face turned red whenever you were brought up in conversation and vice versa with you. I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"

"I forgive you Athena."

"If you hadn't written that note, it probably would never have happened," Miles spoke, leaving Athena to sigh in relief.

"Love you."

"Love you too, (Y/n)."
