Three suns had passed when Captain Santiago regained consciousness. He woke up in the Lunar Lake Medical Hospital. He tried to get up but still felt weak and thus, he continued to lay on the bed. Two soldiers were posted outside Captain Santiago's hospital room. An hour or so, the door opened.
"Sir," Captain Santiago tried to sit up straight as he saluted to Major Hawthorne.
"As you were." Major Hawthorne said.
Major Hawthorne asked his soldier bodyguard to live him alone with the Captain.
"How are you feeling, Captain Santiago?" Major Hawthorne asked.
"Good, Sir." The captain replied.
"I know it is too soon, after all, you just came back from your deep sleep, but you know this is part of the protocol." Major Hawthorne began to say, "However, in the interest of national security, please recount to me what really happened to you and some of soldiers in the village located some few miles outside Lunar Lake?"
"Well, the night when the meteor entered Earth's atmosphere, we marched into the village and quarantined it." Captain Santiago began to narrate. "We gathered all the villagers, interrogated them and performed medical test; we found nothing out of the ordinary."
"Captain Santiago," The major interrupted. "I already know that. What I am asking is what happened to you and your troops after you came to my office and filed your report three days ago?"
"What do you mean, Sir?" Captain Santiago was puzzled by the question.
"Look, Captain." Major Hawthorne was becoming impatient. "Three days ago, you came in my office to give your report about the meteor incident in the outskirts of this city some miles away from here. Then, according to your men, when you came back to the village you had civilians in custody. You detained these boys suspecting that they were somehow connected to the meteor incident."
Captain Santiago listened intently to what his superior was narrating. Somehow, he could not understand what the major was talking about.
