Cat again because I'm bored and feeling rant-y.
So my class has been learning about the 10 commandments and how they apply to everyday life lately (don't go yelling at me about talking religion please, I can't help it in this case) and a few days ago we watched this video on bullying, which is a form of "Thou shalt not murder" and all. It was a sort of sketch thing, all dramatic and shit. Basically, it started with a guy taking a picture of a girl and making a mean meme thing about her and posting it all over the school. Then it starts focusing on one of this guy's friends. This new guy's sister is being bullied by girls in her school and the brother finds out when he can't find her one night and he checks her phone and sees all these awful text messages on it. One of them says for her to kill herself. The brother goes and finds her on the porch crying, and I think I almost lost it while watching at that point because I thought she had actually commuted suicide and I was so relieved that she hadn't.
So when the video was over, we started talking about as a class and I got really pissed. A bunch of people had been talking out while we were watching it and laughing at certain things like "HE MADE HER A MEME? DUDE THAT'S LIKE THE STUPIDEST THING EVER!" Like come on, watch the movie and LISTEN TO THE FUCKING MESSAGE
And there was this ongoing "I was just joking" thing in it, and when we brought it up in class, our teacher was like "Have any of you ever had someone say 'just kidding' to you after saying something that hurt you?"
And I nodded, because that's literally all that one girl ever does to me in my class, but only like 3 other people nodded and I was like "da faq?"
I honestly couldn't even join in on the conversation because I was just so pissed off and upset at how lightly my class was taking all of this and how much some of the stuff we were talking about related to me (or maybe some of the other account members).
And then the other day we were talking about the stuff that goes against the 6th and 9th commandments (thou shall not commit adultery and thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife) and one of the things that went against it was "homosexual activity".
Um.
*looks in mirror*
Shit.
And then for the things that are not against it, it said "respect each and everyone's sexuality".
WHAT THE FUCK
STOP CONTRADICTING YOURSELF
HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO RESPECT SOMEONE'S SEXUALITY WHEN YOU JUST SAID THAT HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVITY IS AGAINST THIS COMMANDMENT
NOT TO MENTION LIKE 1 IN 10 PEOPLE ARE LGBTQ+ SOOOOOO
YOU'RE SAYING THAT AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE IN MY CLASS (*cough* me *cough*) ARE AGAINST THE 6TH AND 9TH COMMANDMENTS
WHATEVER YOU SAY, MRS TEACHER LADY
OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW BEST, EVEN THOUGH IT'S 2015 AND HOMOPHOBIA IS BULLSHIT
*scoffs*
*rides away on rainbow scooter*
