I actually had a pretty good day in school today.
It was all in music class, really, everything else was pretty sucky, actually.
So I get to the music room first because the rest of my class is handing in their tests to the teacher and I'm kind of fast so I walk in and my teacher, Mr. C, immediately sees me and sings "SUMMERTIIIIIIIIIME"
and I'm like "HAHA NOOOO"
He was with us on the field trip, so he knew what I sang at the Apollo.
So then he proceeds to tell me that he had recorded my performance and shown it to all his singer friends (he's in his early 20s and like my favorite teacher btw) and he's like "have you ever taken voice lessons?" and I told him I took them for a while but I stopped because of the play and he told me I should pick them up again because I'm a really good singer andI have really good time and all that and I was like internally screaming because I can't handle compliments well at all.
So during class he's showing us videos of some people that Billy Mitchell (Mr Apollo) had mentioned on the Apollo tour and he ended with Billie Holiday singing "Summertime" (my song) and everyone in my class was just like "I like Catherine's version better" and I was like "AWWW YOU GUYS"
And then at the very end of class, Mr C is just like "you guys what to hear some of the new stuff my band recently recorded?" And we were all like "HECKLE YEAH" and he did and it was AMAZING
btw, before you ask what his band's name is, I DO NOT KNOW
And his girlfriend sings the vocals and he plays the drums and omg it was so good
So yeah, other than that my day was kind of shitty, but I'm sort of holding on to the better part of it for once.
