So today my class got this paper showing the guidelines for our field trip to NYC in a couple weeks. There was this one section on DRESS that said this:
"Students should dress neatly for the day. Clothing should be modest, non-revealing, in good condition, and clean. The following items may not be worn: yoga pants, short shorts (cargo shorts or capris are fine), tank tops, spaghetti straps, tube tops, midriff blouses/shirts, torn clothing, clothing that is too tight or too short, clothing with inappropriate graphics, wording, advertisements, etc. It is important to dress neatly for our visit to the Jewish Museum and the visit to St. John the Baptist Church; out of respect, we are asking that jeans not be worn."
WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT ME TO WEAR, A BARREL?
Also, when I asked my teacher how jeans are considered "disrespectful" she replied that sometimes they're ripped or something and I was just like "but that's already a given, it says no ripped clothing."
                              And what does she do?
                              SHE SMILED AND SHRUGGED.
I'm not wearing a fucking dress to New York City, okay? That shit is going to be windy. Not to mention I have no shorts other than jean shorts, so I'm going to be stuck in long pants all day. What if it's sunny? What if I end up having to wear black pants (which I probably will)? I'll be sweating my non-existent balls off.
Honestly, it's my last field trip ever at my school and they're literally giving us nothing to wear.
If you're going to put that many restrictions on it, you naught as well just tell us to wear our uniform.
