So Riley's last post made me think of something else that happened today.
So we were reading this story in Literature class today and at one point there was this one line that was just like "and she looked up to him with a look of anguish in her eyes, a look that trusted fully in the man she worshiped" or something like that.
So when we read that part out loud I scoffed really loudly and my teacher (who's a woman btw) looked over at me and was like "I guess you aren't much of a romantic, then, Catherine?"
And I was just like "Um, I'm not saying I'm not, this line is just really sexist"
Now we've had debates in this same class over who's the stronger gender and also I should probably mention that this story was written in like the 1800s when there were like no women's rights and stuff and so yeah, pretty much everyone in my class knows that I'm all for women WHOOP
So anyway my teacher just looked at me for a second and then I just screamed out "IM AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN" and everybody laughed because they're finally used to my shit after knowing me for like 11 years and my teacher just smiled and shook her head and we continued talking about whatever the hell we were talking about and it was kind of funny tbh
But yeah maybe I'll write about that male vs female debate some time in the future.
