just us - Stefan

you both decide to be a little spontaneous 

"i don't want to decide things today, don't make me go" i say and i feel and hear Stefan laugh so i lightly slap is stomach still not moving my head from his chest 

"aren't you supposed to be happy planning "the best day of your life?" " he says and i look up at him 

"i'm just tired Steeeeeeffff" i say sitting up hoping me gets point, Stefan moves his hand from my waist and starts rubbing my back "and you know what i mean" i say waving a dismissive hand, which he catches in his and kisses the back of it

"you know full well if you call the girls to cancel they will be ok with it? it's our day at the end of they day and if you're not happy planning it today then what's the point?" he says and i turn round to look at him, raising an eyebrow and he holds his free hand up defensively "i mean today treat your day off as a day off. Actually relax and not think about anything" he says sitting up, he leans in to kiss me 

"almost sounded like you don't wanna get married there" i say with a smile and he smiles back

"you almost sound the same"he says, we both smile at each other then i rest my head on his shoulder

"nah you're stuck with me Salvatore" i say and he kisses my forehead 

"back at you Y/l/n" he says and i move my head to look up at him 

"you got any plans today?" i ask and he shake his head "well if i call Bonnie and cancel would you wanna rot on the sofa with me and binge Game of Thrones all day?" i say with a smiles and he nods 

"babe i thought you'd never ask" he says kissing me "right you call and i'll go make a start on breakfast" he says standing up and i smile reaching over grabbing my phone 

"thank you baby i'll be right down" i say and he nods, i pull out my phone to call Bonnie and when she answers and i explain how i'm feeling she is so understanding, as always, and says she'll sort everything out. Luckily we didn't have any appointments to move around or anything, it was meant to be more of a narrow down and make some design decisions days. Which would be an awful thing to do exhausted. We hang up and i let out a sigh of relief before heading downstairs to Stefan who's cooking up a storm in the kitchen. I walk right over to him and wrap my arms around his waist

"smells good" i say 

"thought breakfast sandwiches would be a good shout, fuel us for our marathon ahead" he says and i smile against his back "Bonnie's good?" he asks and i nod

"yeah, she's gonna message the others then i then her and Enzo are gonna do something, says she's gonna make a nice day for them" i say and he nods

"look at that, we're all gonna have even better days now" he says and i remove me arms squeezing his sides as i do making him jump

"want me to make coffee?" i ask and he nods so i move over and grab the kettle and fill it with water, once the water is heating up i grab the cafetiere and start putting the coffee grounds in. We work in silence for a bit before i ask "wanna watch from where we left of or just pick random episodes?" and he turns giving me a knowing look

"judging by the question i'm guessing you have an episode in mind?" he says raising an eyebrow and i walk over to the cutlery drawer and start grabbing stuff for me and him and i say not looking at him

" i might do but if you want to continue on from where we were i'd be happy to do so my love" i finish setting the table and i turn to look up at him already smiling at me and he says 

"let me guess....." he says and at the same time we both say

"battle of the bastards" and he rolls his eyes "let's do it" he says and i smile walking back over to him and wrapping my arms around him again

"we can go back to season 4 after" i say and he nods 

"i don't mind"  he says and i give him a quick before heading back over to finish making the coffee. Once everything is ready me make our way through to the living room and set up the tv so we can watch the show, whilst i bring the stuff through Stefan moves the table, with placemats and coasters, closer to the sofa so we can put our plates and mugs there. Earlier i  brought blankets through and just made it as cosy as possible. Once we were sat down and all cosy we started our marathon.

"shall we take a break?" Stefan says and i nod, my head is against his chest and he leans down placing a kiss on my forehead. I stay there for a moment remembering a thought that popped into my head that i can't seem to shake,  Stefan noticed the look on my head and paused "all good there?" he asks and i nod 

"yeah..sorry" i say sitting up rubbing my face with my hands, i swing my legs so my feet are on the ground he sits up fully next to me 

"what's up?" he says placing a hand on my back and i turn to him and he's giving me a worried look 

"it's nothing Stef, just thought of something earlier, i'm all good" i say placing a hand on his thigh smiling at him

"well can i know?" he says and i smile 

"what if we eloped?" i say and he pauses brows furrowing before a smile break out on his face

"you wanna elope?" he asks and i shrug

"i mean why not?" i ask and he moves closer to me wrapping an arm around my waist pulling me closure "neither of us wanted a big wedding or a fancy party and... it kind of feels like we're doing this for everyone else up ourselves" i say and he keeps smiling at me "i love our friends and i love everything they've done so far but does this day feel like me and you?" i say and he shakes his head subtly 

"not really no" he says placing a kiss on my shoulder 

"i don't care about a big fancy wedding i just want to spend my life with you, I want a marriage

"well... what do you think?" i ask and he smiles at me moving a hand to cup my face just staring at for a moment, years later he still makes me feel giddy 

"i think i wanna marry you and spend the rest of my life with you, i want a marriage" he says and i smile at him

"we're doing this?" i ask and he nods standing up and holding out a hand for me to take smiling

"fancy a road trip babe?"
