The regression

Prompt - can you please write a story where Nathan has a regression after a nightmare and acts as a small child and have tantrums?

Nathan was always the baby of the band. As he was the youngest, it just somehow fit that he was the baby. When Tom had first spanked Nathan, it became clear that Nathan would always be the baby of the band. With his tantrums, spankings and need to be disciplined and the fact that he was younger than all of them, the boys and even the girls treated him truly like the baby amongst them. But Nathan always protested that he wasn’t a baby! But no one knew such a situation could come where actually Nathan would behave like a baby.

It actually happened a night when the boys decided to go out clubbing and Nathan was supposed to be in bed sleeping as Tom warned him before going. That day, Nareesha and Kelsey had come over but stayed at home as they were tired from travelling and also to ‘babysit’ Nathan or more likely to just watch over the lad for the boys’ reassurance. Nathan was up sleeping in his room while Kelsey and Nareesha sat in the living room gossiping. Suddenly the girls heard a scream coming from Nathan’s room.

“Nath” Kelsey said as both she and Nareesha ran to Nathan’s room. They found Nathan drenched in his own sweat, sitting up straight on his bed and gasping for his breath. “Aww… Nath” Nareesha whispered as he watched Nathan break into sobs. She sat next to Nathan rubbing his back and trying to get him to calm down while Kelsey ran to get Nathan’s inhaler forgotten in the kitchen and managed to grab a bottle of water too.

“Here” Kelsey said as she held Nathan’s inhaler to his mouth but the boy just weakly pushed the inhaler away. “Nathan, you need it, right?” Nareesha said. The boy just shook his head crying. “You sound out of breath, just take it” Kelsey said. “I want Daddy” Nathan sobbed out. “Daddy?” both Kelsey and Nareesha asked shocked. “Nightmare, wan’ Daddy” Nathan sobbed. “Okay! Okay! Shush down! You want Scooter? You call him Daddy, right?” Nareesha asked. Nathan shook his head. “You want the boys?” Kelsey asked. Nathan nodded as he continued sobbing.

For once the boys were actually sitting sober in a club. It was a dull club and they weren’t quite enjoying themselves there. Tom picked up Kelsey’s call at first ring itself. His expression changed as he listened to Kelsey telling him to come back quickly and to Nathan’s sobs in the background. “We need to go right now” Tom said picking up the car keys. “What happened?” Siva asked as they got in the car. “Kelsey called. She said Nathan woke up screaming.” Tom said. “Nightmare?” Jay said. “Yeah, but he hasn’t stopped crying.” Tom added. “Must have been really scared from the nightmare then” Max said. “Yeah, and he keeps asking for us. But problem is that he called us Daddy” Tom said as they reached the house. “What?” all three boys asked. Tom nodded and they all got out of the car.

Kelsey met them at the door looking really worried. “We can’t get him to stop crying.” Kelsey said. The boys ran to Nathan’s room. “Daddy” Nathan said as he saw Tom. Scrambling out of Nareesha’s hug, he lifted his arms towards Tom. Tom stood there shocked for a few second before moving towards Nathan and pulled him in a hug. “His inhaler, he didn’t take it from us” Kelsey said. “Give me” Siva said as Kelsey handed him the inhaler. “Nath, just take two puffs from it alright?” Siva said as he placed the inhaler to Nathan’s mouth giving him two quick puffs. Jay and Max stood there watching as Nathan slipped his thumb in mouth and fell asleep in Tom’s lap.

“What the hell was that?” Max whispered. “Daddy?” Jay asked. “Sounds like a regression” Siva said. “What was his nightmare about?” Tom asked. “I don’t know. We asked but he didn’t say anything just kept crying for you boys” Nareesha said. “Maybe it would be back to normal tomorrow. I mean perhaps he was too upset from the nightmare” Kelsey said. “Maybe” Jay said. All they had to do now was to wait for tomorrow.

The next day, sitting in the kitchen, they waited for Nathan to wake up. They all were waiting to see if Nathan had actually regressed or not. But they were quite relived when Nathan behaved normally in the morning. None of them talked about Nathan’s regression last night or his nightmare. They thought it was a onetime thing. It will not happen again, right? They thought as Nathan acted normal, things would go back to normal so no use talking about it.

But Nathan’s actual outburst came that night itself when the boys were getting ready to leave for another club. Sitting the kitchen with the girls, Nathan was actually feeling scared. “What’s wrong?” Kelsey asked as she saw Nathan’s sad face. The girls watched in shock as Nathan threw the plate down and started throwing everything on the table down. Glasses, plates, everything that he could see, Nathan broke them. “I don’t want to eat, I don’t want you girls, I don’t want anything” Nathan kept saying.

“What the hell?” Max shouted as he saw the mess around. Nathan stopped right there at Max’s voice as he heard the boys also gasp. “Nathan?” Jay said. “A temper tantrum? But why?” Siva asked. “Why did you do that?” Tom asked. Nathan just shook his head not answering the boys as tears slipped down his face. “Get over here right now” Max said pulling a chair and sitting down as he waited for Nathan to walk to him. “Nath, move” Max said. But the boy just stood there whimpering. “Nath” Max said and pulled the boy over his lap before pushing his jeans and boxers down.

SWAT SWAT You don’t SWAT SWAT throw things around SWAT SWAT in temper SWAT SWAT how many SWAT SWAT times SWAT SWAT were you SWAT SWAT told so SWAT SWAT and why SWAT SWAT a temper tantrum SWAT SWAT all of a sudden SWAT SWAT you just don’t SWAT SWAT act like that Nath SWAT SWAT I thought SWAT SWAT you knew better SWAT SWAT After SWAT SWAT we’re done here SWAT SWAT you’re going to SWAT SWAT say sorry SWAT SWAT and tell us SWAT SWAT why you just SWAT SWAT had a temper tantrum SWAT SWAT alright? SWAT SWAT

As soon as Max ended the spanking, Nathan burst out in sobs clinging to Max as he apologized over again. “It’s okay now. Apologies accepted” Max chuckled. But Nathan hadn’t stopped crying and didn’t loosen his hold on Max even when his boxers and jeans were pulled up again. “Nath?” Max asked. “I’m sorry Daddy. Please don’t leave me” Nathan sobbed. “Daddy? Leave you?” Max said. “Nathan, up you get, come on” Tom said pulling Nathan up from Max’s lap and leading him to the living room with the rest of them following close behind.

“What’s going on, Nath? Why would we leave you” Siva asked. “You left me before” Nathan sobbed. “Before? When?” Jay asked. “Nath, was that your nightmare that you saw last night?” Max asked. Nathan nodded. “I saw that you left me just like my Dad did” Nathan sobbed. “Oh Nath” Siva said pulling Nathan in a hug. “We will never leave you, Nath” Max said. “So, the temper tantrum was to stop the boys from going to the club?” Nareesha asked. Nathan gave a short nod as the boys chuckled. “Listen to me, whatever nightmare you see, remember one thing we will always be there for you. We will never leave you” Tom promised. Nathan’s face brightened up at that as he gave the boys a small smile.

Later that night after Nathan had gone to bed, the boys sat around with Kelsey and Nareesha. “He regressed slightly after the nightmare” Tom said. “Yeah, just saw him sleeping with the thumb in mouth” Jay said. “We should be prepared for such regressions and ‘Daddys’ also” Siva said. “But whatever happens, we will always be there for him” Max said receiving a nod from everyone.
