It was another long working day at the Nursery, and the silence around her was almost suffocating. Sorscha was the last one still here. She was just tidying up the room.

The room was empty, with only the hum of the LED lights and the soft hiss of the air conditioning to accompany her in her solitude. She had tried to avoid Janice over the last few days after the incident. But now, at the end of the working day, she once again had to face the woman she had been so keen to avoid.

"Sorscha," she suddenly heard a voice that cut through her like a cold knife. Janice was standing in the doorway, her posture relaxed, almost too relaxed, as if she was enjoying the whole situation. " You've got something for me, haven't you?"

Sorscha looked up, trying to keep her emotions under control. She had deliberately kept her distance over the last few days, concentrating on her work and trying to ignore Janice. But now that she was standing in front of her, she could no longer hide her unease. Her heart was beating faster, her hands were clammy.

"Yes, here," Sorscha said as she held the folder in Janice's direction, which contained the latest observation documents from today.

But Janice didn't take the folder. She grinned and turned around. She wanted Sorscha to follow her, and the irish woman complied.

It was only when the office door closed that Janice took the folder from Sorscha's hand and placed it on her desk, her eyes sparkling. "Thank you," she said calmly and took a step closer. " But you know, Sorscha, I was hoping that you might stay a little longer. We haven't spoken in a long time, have we?"

Sorscha unconsciously clenched her hands into fists. She didn't want Janice to continue playing her game, but it was hard to get away from her. "What do you want from me, Janice?" she asked in an icy voice, although her nervousness was rising mercilessly.

" You know what I want," Janice replied with a smile that was almost too sweet to be true. " But I think you've been thinking a lot the last few days. You're trying to stay away from me. But you can't, can you?"

" What do you mean?" asked Sorscha, the anger in her voice now unmistakable. She knew she couldn't win if she continued to allow herself to be put on the defensive.

" You're trying to organise your thoughts, trying to lie to yourself," Janice said with a slight grin. "You're letting your wife... what was her name again?" she played a mock pensive and tapped her chin. ".. ah.. yes Clodagh... Distract you. But you know yourself that she doesn't realise. She doesn't realise that you're broken inside, that you can't control yourself anymore. You know it, and you won't be able to deny it forever."

Sorscha felt the words strike her like a blow. Was that really the case? Did Clodagh really not realise? Could she not recognise how much something was changing inside her? The question was burning inside her, and Janice had hit her right where it hurt with a single sentence.

"Stop it, Janice," Sorscha said with a whimper in her voice that she didn't want. She wanted to fight back, wanted to escape this manipulation, but the more she tried to resist, the more she felt encircled by Janice.

"You have to finally admit it to yourself," Janice said, her voice now softer, almost seductive. "You're attracted to me, and you know it. You're angry with me, but deep down, you feel it. You want this game, Sorscha."
