P1 Champion: Fight!

[Indigo League Journey Day 3, Cerulean City, 3PM]

Writer's POV

After finding Bonnie and meeting up with Misty and a little rivalry between Misty and Serena, Ash and his friends found out about the P1 Grand Prix tournament. Ash wasted zero time and called his Hawlucha from Professor Oak's Lab and rushed to the venue of the fighting-type tournament.

Ash, Serena, Brock and Bonnie all walked towards the stadium where the tournament was about to start. It was a clear day and the Stadium was getting visible a few hundred meters away from he group.

Bonnie was walking beside Serena as something came to her mind. "Serena, Isn't your Pancham a fighting type too?" said Bonnie in a cheerful manner as she pointed towards Serena's pocket where she usually kept her Pokeballs.  

Serena kept on walking with the rest of the group as she replied "Yeah. Why?" to Bonnie in a bit of a curious tone. "Since Ash's Hawlucha is gonna be in the competition, why don't you sign up your Pancham too?" said Bonnie as she continued on. 

Ash, who was walking beside Serena joined in on the conversation "Yeah! It'll be great!" Ash adds to Bonnie's previous statement in his positive attitude. 

Serena thought for a short while, after which she replied "I don't know... It's not exactly my kind of thing..." with a bit of a reluctant tone. 

"Why don't you ask Pancham?" said Ash to Serena, giving an excellent suggestion. Serena replied "Yeah, Right!" as they all stopped walking. Serena then went for her pocket and released her Pancham out of it's Pokeball.

Serena leaned a little on the fighting-type Pokemon in order to talk to him. "Pancham, you wanna participate in the Grand Prix?" she asked Pancham in her sweet attitude. Ash joined in as he too leaned a bit to talk to the little Pokemon. "You'll be fighting for this prize!" He said to Pancham as he held up the poster for the Grand Prix and pointed to the image of the Championship Belt. 

Pancham took the poster from Ash's hands and looked at the image of the belt with sparkles in his eyes. He could definitely imagine himself wearing that championship belt. "Pan-Pan Cham!" (Yeah!) He said as he formed a fist, implying he wanted to battle. 

Brock, who was standing a bit further joined in on the conversation as well. "So? Will you enter the competition?" He asked Serena. Serena started to think whether she wanted to participate in the tournament or not. She looked at Pancham who was drooling over the image of the prize, which made her decision right as rain. 

"Well, if Pancham wants to... Sure why not!" Serena said to everyone as she looked towards the venue of the tournament which was now quite near them. "Let's go!" Bonnie said as the group continued on.

[A bit farther from the Group]

Team Rocket, as usual were monitoring the foursome from a distance with their high-powered binoculars. They were peeking from some bushes in a high place near Ash and the gang. 

"Look, it's the P1 Grand Prix tournament" Meowth said as he looked at a huge poster for the championship tournament through his binoculars. James looked at the poster too, moving his sights away from Ash and his friends. 

"Oooohh. That prize belt sure looks shiny. I bet it could grab a good price somewhere. You know what that means, right?" James said as he zoomed in on the Championship belt. "Yeah, Jimmy. It means we're gonna steal it and go to an all-you-can-eat Buffet!" Meowth replied to James as he started drooling over the thought of eating lots and lots of food.

Jessie was starting to get annoyed by the fact that James and Meowth were not focusing on the real mission. *WHAM* "Shut up! We're here to steal that squishy for the Boss!" Jessie says as she slams a hammer on James and Meowth's heads and starts to look at Bonnie's bag. Squishy had popped it's head out of it as it looked around.
