Note: First of all, I wanted to clear things up about how time in this book has passed. Indigo League (Gen 1): 10 year old Ash. After Kalos league and current time in the book (Gen 8, more or less): Almost 17 year old Ash. Each generation is a bit less than one year of age for Ash, unlike the Anime :P

Secondly, I've decided that the baby Charmander that hatched in the previous chapter is Female.

Thirdly, after reading the older chapter comments, a lot of you people believe Ash's Father is RED. Answer: No. Red isn't Ash's father, but he MIGHT make an appearance later down the line.

[Indigo League Journey, Day 6. Viridian Forest, 7PM]

Writer's POV

Narrator: "After fending off the Fearow attack and Having Charmander taking her first steps and learning Flamethrower, Ash and his friends have returned to their camping place for the night."

"Greninja! I choose you!" Ash said as he threw Greninja's Pokeball and released the Ninja Pokemon.

"Okay, Greninja. Ready?" Ash said to Greninja while stretching his arms. "Nin--Ja!" (Ready!) Greninja replied while doing some sit-ups, stretching his legs.

"Are you sure you should be training at this hour?" Serena said with a bit of worried tone. "Char-Charmander---" (You're not going anywhere) Charmander said as she grabbed Ash's leg. 

"What if some wild Pokemon attacks you in the dark?" Bonnie said as she started to think it was a bad idea.

"Come on, guys. Don't be like that. The Indigo league isn't far now and we barely ever train together. Me and my Pokemon need to get even more stronger if i'm going to use my powers for a longer period of time." Ash said to Serena and Bonnie as he picked up little Charmander

"I'll be okay. Don't worry" Ash said to Charmander as he patted her head and then proceeded to hand Charmander to Serena.

"Keep an eye on Pikachu, will ya? He's been sleeping for who knows how long. I hope he's okay" Ash said as his tone got a bit worry some, but he was still determined to train alone with Greninja, leaving his Pokeball belt inside his tent.

"Well, okay Ash. I'll see if Pikachu needs anything." Serena said to Ash, still with a worried look on her face.

"Stronger together! Let's go!" Ash said as he and Greninja ran off into the forest, on their training. Serena and Bonnie, along with Charmander looked as Ash and Greninja disappeared into the dark forest.

*Yawn* "Well, that's Ash for ya. Training in the darkness." Bonnie said to Serena while walking towards her tent. "Well, see you guys tomorrow" She added as she went inside. 

Charmander climbed from Serena's hands and straight onto her head, so she could get a better look at where Ash had went.

"Char-?" Charmander said to Serena with a doubtful tone in her voice. "Don't worry, Charmander. Ash is going to be just fine. He has Greninja with him" Serena said to Charmander with a calm tone. "Let's check up on Pikachu and see what's up with him" Serena added as she went inside Ash's tent, where Pikachu had been out cold for hours now.

[Over at Ash and Greninja]

Ash and Greninja got in perfect sync as they ran together, dodging trees and jumping from bark to bark on the treetops. Ash was able to see in the low-light, thanks to sharing Greninja's powers while being in-sync with him.

"I'm right next to you, pal. You're not holding back, are you?" Ash said as he continued running right next to Greninja, dodging everything that came across them. "Let's go into full power!" Ash said as he focused his powers.
