You Know The Rules (Agent Haggard)

Y/N didn't want to resign from her job, but now, she had to. She knew it was against the rules to sleep with fellow agents. She had a one night stand with Haggard, and now, she was pregnant.

They had a wonderful night together, and Y/N knew how much Haggard loved his job. She decided that she would leave the agency, so he didn't have too.

She hadn't spoken to him since their night together. Haggard didn't even know she was pregnant. Of course, she wanted to tell him. She wanted him to be in their child's life, but if the agency found out, Haggard would definitely lose his job.

Almost nine months later, her due date was approaching fast, and she still needed a couple things for the baby's nursery. She needed some extra bottles, pacifiers, baby blankets, and you can never have too many diapers.

Y/N went to the store and bought the baby items and groceries she needed. She was loading her bags into her car when she felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned and a shocked expression came to her face. Haggard was standing there in front of her with a similar look on his face.

"Hey, Y/N. It's been awhile. Uh, h-how have you been?"
"I've been better, Hag. How about you?"
"Good, yeah. I've been good. So, you're pregnant? Is it mine?"
"This is not how I imagined the conversation going."

Y/N sighed and looked at the ground. She turned around and shut her trunk. She turned back around and leaned against her trunk with her arms crossed. She looked back up to find Haggard already looking at her.

"Yeah, he's yours."
"Oh, fuck. I'm gonna be a father to a little boy. Why didn't you tell me? Why did you resign?"
"You know the rules, Hag. We would have both been fired, and I know how much you love your job. I left so you wouldn't have too."
"Can I?"

Haggard moved closer to Y/N and gestures his hands toward her pregnant belly. She nodded, and he placed his hands on her belly, smiling like a mad man. She felt bad for keeping this information from him, but he seemed genuinely happy about it.

"So, if I did my math correctly, your due date is close."
"Yeah it is."
"I would like to be in his life and yours if you'll let me. I want to be here."
"Yes, of course Hag-"

Before Y/N could finish her sentence, she felt warm liquid spill from between her legs. She looked up at Haggard with wide eyes.

"Y/N, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I think so. My water just broke."

Panic began to run through Haggard's body. He just found out that he was going to be a father, and now, the baby was actually coming. He took a deep breath and focused his attention back to Y/N.

"Can you drive me to the hospital? I already have all the stuff I need in my car so we can drive that."
"O-Okay, yeah. Let's go have a baby."

Y/N smiled at Haggard as he helped her into the passenger side of the car. He helped her get into the car then he ran around to the driver side, entering the car. 

Y/N's first contraction hit her about five minutes into the drive to the hospital. The contraction were progressively getting stronger, and Haggard reached over and grabbed her hand. She looked at him, and he nodded his head, so she grabbed his hand and squeezed it every time a contraction hit her.

They quickly arrived at the hospital, and Haggard helped her out of the car and grabbed her bag from the backseat. They walked into the hospital, and a nurse brought Y/N wheelchair and wheeled her to Labor and Delivery. Haggard didn't let go of her hand the entire time.

Y/N and Haggard made themselves comfortable in a room, waiting for a doctor to come in and check on everything.

"Thanks for bringing me and staying with me."
"It's not a problem. This is my baby too. I helped make him, and I want to be here every step of the way. I want this. I want you and him."

Haggard leaned down and placed a kiss on her lips. Y/N kissed him back, but suddenly pulled away when there was a knock on the door.

The doctor came in and examined Y/N. She was six centimeters dilated, and the doctor told her that she was progressing. Haggard sat down in a chair beside her bed and continued to hold her hand and help her breathe through the contractions.

Two and a half hours later, Y/N gave birth to a healthy 7lbs, 4 oz baby boy with Haggard by her side. Thankfully, there weren't any complications during the delivery, and Haggard couldn't be any happier.

He was lying on the hospital bed holding his sleeping son with Y/N curled into his side, sleeping peacefully. In this moment, he felt true happiness. He couldn't imagine himself being anywhere else, and he didn't want to be. He was content with the idea of staying with Y/N and helping her raise their son, and he didn't plan on changing that.
