(Part 2 of Is The Baby Mine?)

Richie's the happiest he's been in years. He and Y/N began dating after she told him about the baby. He had been trying to convince Y/N to move in with him so he didn't miss anything else that happened with their son.

Y/N finally gave in and moved in with him. They began getting the baby's room decorated and placing furniture in it. Richie's first attempt to put the crib together failed miserably when the crib fell apart causing him and Y/N to search through the mountain of boxes looking for the instructions.

Today was Y/N's six month check up appointment, and Richie was bouncing from wall to wall with excitement. He was going to experience seeing their son for the first time, and he couldn't wait.

They sat in the waiting room of Y/N's OB/GYN. Richie's leg began to bounce nervously, and Y/N chuckled and placed a hand on his leg, preventing it from bouncing. She looked over at Richie and smiled.

"You have no reason to be nervous, Rich."
"Yeah, I know. It's just that doctor's offices freak me a bit."

Before Y/N could respond, the nurse called her name. She stood up and extend a hand to Richie. He took her hand, and they follow the nurse to the patient room.

Y/N made her self comfortable on the exam table as the nurse did a vital check and asked her some questions. When the nurse left, Richie starting talking to the baby, and Y/N smiled while running a hand through his hair.

"Hey, your doctor isn't some old man with one foot in the grave right?"

The doctor knocked on the door causing Richie to sit up. Y/N laughed at his sudden movement.

"I guess you'll find out. You can come in Dr. Robinson."

The doctor entered the room, and Richie let out a huge sigh of relief  seeing that Y/N's doctor was a woman who looked to be in her early thirties. Y/N laughed quietly at Richie again as the doctor turned her attention to Y/N. A surprised look came to her face as she saw Richie sitting beside Y/N.

"It's always good to see you, Y/N. You must be the famous Richie she keeps telling me about. It's nice of you to join us."

Dr. Robinson smiled at Richie as he gave Y/N a confused look. Y/N looked over at Richie, and she could hear the question that ran through his mind.

"Yes, Rich. I've talked to her about you. Don't look so confused. She likes your stand up."
"Alright, Y/N. We're gonna get started."

Y/N nodded at Dr. Robinson, and she rolled the ultrasound machine over to the exam table. Y/N lifted her shirt over her growing baby bump. Dr. Robinson grabbed the gel, and Y/N jumped slightly as the cold gel hit her skin.

Dr. Robinson moved the transducer across Y/N's stomach and stopped when the baby came onto the monitor.

"Alright, here he is. He appears to be normal size for six months, so that means that he's healthy. Let me just turn on the sound so you can hear the heart beat."

Richie's eyes were close to releasing tears at the sight of his son on the monitor. He couldn't hold his tears back as the sound of the baby's heartbeat filled the quiet room.

Y/N reached over and grabbed his hand squeezing it slightly. Richie wipes his eyes with his free hand and sniffles as he stared at the monitor.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know that was gonna happen."
"You're totally fine. It happens all the time."

Dr. Robinson printed off the sonogram pictures for them. Y/N made an appointment for next month, and her and Richie left, hand in hand. They made it to Richie's car and got in. Richie turned towards Y/N and grabbed her hand.

"I'm taking you out to dinner tonight to celebrate that our son is healthy."
"Okay! A night out sounds fun."

Richie drove them back to his house and got everything ready for tonight. He was dressed kind of fancy, and Y/N's dressed showed her baby bump off perfectly.

Richie helped her out to the car, and they drove to nice restaurant that Y/N had never been to before. He wrapped his arm around her as they walked into the restaurant. He lead them to the lady in charge of seating people.

"Tozier, table for two."
"Yes, Mr. Tozier. Your table is ready."

Richie and Y/N followed another lady to their table in a secluded part of the restaurant. Richie pulled Y/N's chair out for her then made his way to his chair.

They ordered their drinks and food and talked about Richie's upcoming shows. Their food arrived, and they drove in. Y/N was almost finished when she noticed that Richie was staring at her.

"Richie, are you okay?"
"I'm better that okay. I'm wonderful. I know this probably isn't the place to do this, but I need to tell you."

Richie took a deep breath, and tried to organize his thought. Y/N looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

"The night we met means so much to me. If we had never met, my life would be completely different, and I'd rather have life with you and our son than anyone else. You mean everything to me, and out son does too. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I-I love you, Y/N, and I love our son too."

Y/N stared at Richie with tears brimming her eyes. She smiled at him and grabbed his hand, lacing her fingers through his.

"I love you too, Richie."

Richie smiled back at her and got up from his chair, walking to her side of the table. He leaned down and placed a loving kiss on her lips. She kissed him back and moved her hand to cup his cheek. He pulled away and sat back down in his chair.

Richie knew that as long as he had Y/N and their son, he would always be loved. They completed him in the best ways.
