My Water Just Broke (Richie Tozier)

(Part 10 of Is The Baby Mine?)

Tomorrow was Halloween, and Y/N and Richie were invited to a Halloween costume party that was happening today. Y/N's due date was tomorrow, and Finn still hasn't came yet. She was becoming miserable and very impatient. Richie was their to comfort her the best way he could.

Y/N came up with their costumes for this year, and Richie loved the idea. Y/N was dressed as a gumball machine, and Richie was dressed as a quarter, which means that he had a picture of a quarter taped to his shirt.

They arrived that the party and were greeted by some of Y/N's friends. They were having fun, and Y/N could not get comfortable sitting down so she decided to get up and walk around.

She walked into the kitchen to get herself a cup of water, and she felt a slight pain in her stomach. Richie walked into the kitchen to check on her, and he found her leaning against the counter.

"Y/N, are you okay?
"Yeah, I-I think so. I just-"

Suddenly, Y/N felt warm liquid spill from her and down her legs. She looked at Richie with wide eyes, and he grabbed her arms.

"My water just broke."
"What? Really? Okay, calm down Richie. Let's go to the hospital."
"Yeah, okay."

Richie told everyone that Y/N's water just broke and that they needed to go to the hospital. He lead her to the car and helped her get in. He drove to the hospital as quickly and calmly as he could.

They arrived at the hospital, and Richie helped her out of the car and into the hospital. A nurse gave Y/N a wheelchair and directed them towards the Labor and Delivery floor.

Y/N was placed into a patient room, and Dr. Robinson came in to examine her.

"Y/N, Richie! It's so good to see you both."
"You too, Dr. Robinson."
"Alright, let's get you examined so we can see where you're at."
"Okay."

Dr. Robinson examined Y/N, and she was two centimeters dilated. She finished the exam and left Y/N and Richie alone in the room. A contraction hit Y/N, and Richie grabbed her hand so she could squeeze his. When the contraction ended, she looked at Richie and saw that he was already looking at her.

"Talk to me, Richie. Please."
"You're doing great, Y/N. You're amazing, and I know that you're going to be an amazing mother too."
"I don't know why I didn't tell you about the baby sooner. I should have. I was just scared, I guess. I'm sorry, Richie. I'm so sorry."

Richie slid onto the bed beside and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him. He placed sweet kisses on her as he reassured her.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm here now, and that's all that matters. I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me."
"I wouldn't want anyone else."

Richie leaned down and placed a sweet kiss full of love on her lips. She kissed him back and let one hand rest on his cheek. They pulled away as another contraction came.

Ten hours later, Y/N was ten centimeters dilated and ready to push. After a few pushes, gentle cries were heard. Y/N let her head rest on the pillows behind her as she listened to the sweet crying.

"Richie, would you like to cut the cord?"
"Yeah, of course."

Richie walked over to Dr. Robinson, and she handed him a pair of scissors. Tears began to flow from his eyes as he cut the cord. Dr. Robinson handed the baby to the nurse, and she cleaned him off then wrapped him in a blue blanket. She handed him to Y/N, and Richie sat down in the bed beside her.

"So, does this little Halloween baby have a name?"
"His name is Finnigan James Tozier, Finn for short."

The nurse smiled as she wrote his name. She left the room, leaving Y/N, Richie, and Finn alone. Y/N and Richie stared in amazement at Finn. He was absolutely beautiful. Richie carefully touched Finn's little face.

"Do you want to hold your son?"
"Yeah, I'd love too."

Y/N carefully handed Finn to Richie, and he began to tear up as he settled Finn in his arms. Y/N smiled as she watched Richie react to their son. Richie looked up at Y/N, and he smiled at her.

"We did an amazing job. He's absolutely beautiful, and it's all because of you."
"I beg to differ. Look at his hair color. We have a Richie Jr. on our hands, and I love it."

Richie leaned over and kissed Y/N again. They pulled away and turned their eyes back to Finn. They were enjoying this little together as a family. At last, they were finally a family, and Richie intended on keeping that way.
