The New Girl (Willy)

Y/N desperately needed a summer job. She applied to many places, but the only place that was hiring for the summer was the public pool. She had had lifeguard training so she was more that qualified to work there.

She arrived at the pool and saw some older guys and an older girl, around her age, maybe a little younger walking around and picking up can. The girl saw her standing by the gate and walked over to her.

"Hey, I'm Brandy. Are you Y/N?"
"Yeah, that's me."
"Cool. Let's go. I have to introduce you to Willy, he's the pool manager."

Brandy led Y/N around the pool to a man sleeping in a man sleeping in a chaise lounge chair. Brandy kicked his chair causing him to jump.

"What the fuck was that for, Brandy? I was sleeping, man."
"The new girl is here, and you said that you would train her because I trained the last new person."
"Oh shit, yeah. I almost forgot. Where is she?"
"She's right here."

Brandy stepped to side, and Willy's eyes widen at the sight of Y/N. He thought she was drop dead gorgeous. He awkwardly stared at her for a few seconds before he cleared his throat.

"Um, hey. I-I'm Willy."
"Hey. I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you."

Y/N stuck her hand out for Willy to shake. He smiled at her gesture and slowly shook her hand.

"Well, let's get started."
"Sounds like a plan."

Willy introduced Y/N to all the other lifeguards and showed her around the pool, even though there wasn't much to see. He showed her where the first aid kit was and what to do if there was any type of emergency.

Willy thought Y/N was gonna be the death of him. He adored her gorgeous Y/H/C hair up in a ponytail and her piercing Y/E/C eyes. He kept taking glances at her and cracking jokes just to hear her laugh.

It was time for the gate to open, and Willy yelled at the kids through his megaphone to not run. He opened the open the gate, and the kids almost took him down when they all ran in.

Willy watched as Y/N walked around the pool observing and playing with some of the kids. She had him in a daze. He was pulled from his thoughts when someone started shaking his shoulder.

He snapped out of his daze and saw that Rusty was the one shaking him. Willy shook his head and turned his attention to Rusty.

"Willy, dude. Are you okay? I've been trying to get your attention for like five minutes."
"I'm sorry. I guess I was just day dreaming or something. What did you need?"
"Brandy wanted me to tell you that she had to leave, and that she asked the new girl to stay late to help you clean up."
"Okay. That's cool, I guess."
"What were you day dreaming about?"

Willy turned his attention away from Rusty, looking down at the ground. He didn't know if should tell him or not.

"I-I was day dreaming about Y/N."
"The new girl?"
"Yes, the new girl, but don't you dare say anything. If I have any chances with her, I don't want you to go and mess them up."

Rusty laughed at Willy's nervous behavior and promised that he would say anything. Willy looked back towards the pool, and his eyes landed on Y/N sitting on the edge of the pool, talking to a young girl. He smile as he watched her interact with the child.

The pool closed fifteen minutes ago, and now, Willy and Y/N were alone doing the nightly cleaning routine. They had to pick up trash that was lying around and chemically treat the water to get rid of the germs that had been collected.

Willy climbed up one of the lifeguard chair and sat down. He placed the six pack of beer beside his feet. He grabbed himself a can, cracked it open, and took a long drink from it.

"Wow, those kids get you so stress that you have to chug half a Can of beer at the end of the day?"
"Yeah, they're crazy little monster, but they make my day so much better. I thought you had already left."
"Nope, I'm still here, and to be honest with you, I much rather hang out with you instead of my family."

Willy laughed at her statement and watched her as she climbed up the other lifeguard chair and sat down. He gave a big smile when she turned her attention to him.

"Could I get one of those?"
"Yeah, sure. I've got some weed if you wanna smoke too."
"Sounds like fun, but I think I'll just take the beer right now."

He grabbed her a beer and tossed towards her. She caught the beer and smiled at Willy, victoriously. He smiled back at her and mustered up a little courage to tell her something.

"I think you're absolutely gorgeous."
"What?"

Willy grabbed his megaphone and repeated his words.

"I said I think you're absolutely gorgeous."
"I heard you the first time. I just wanted to hear you say it again."

Willy started blushing as Y/N smiled at him.

"Do you think you'd might be interested in going out on a date with me?"
"I'd love to, Willy."
"Awesome."
"It's getting pretty late, so I better head home."

Y/N and Willy climbed down from the chairs. She grabbed her stuff, and Willy walked her to her car. She open the passenger side door and threw her stuff in. She closed the door and looked back at Willy.

Feeling a new wave a confidence rush over her, she walked towards Willy and pulled him into a sweet kiss. He was shocked at first, then eased into the kiss when he realized what was happening. They pulled away and looked into each others' eyes.

"You're not to drunk to drive, are you?"
"No, I didn't even open the beer you threw at me."
"Oh okay. So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Most definitely."

Y/N wrapped her arms around Willy, pulling him into a tight hug. She slowly pulled away from him and walked around her car to the driver side. She waved at Willy before she climbed in and started her car.

Willy watched her as she drove away, knowing that he was definitely in love with her, and that she had drove away with his heart.
