I Know Her Name (Vince Blight)

Y/N loved working on the set of 'What's That Name?'. Watching people struggle to remember names of people the some what personally know is hilarious. She was a stage assistant so she wasn't well known around set, but that didn't stop her from enjoying the show. She also had a major crush on Vince, but he didn't even know her.

It was time for the show to start, and the cameraman queued Vince to begin. He introduced the show and the contestants, and he welcomed them to the show.

They finished the first round, and of course, the contestants knew who the celebrities were. Now, it was time for the best part of the show.

"Alright, Daniel. For $100,000 dollars, can you tell us the name of this walk out clue?"

A man and a woman walked out, and Y/N watched as Daniel facepalmed. Vince slimed as he continued talking.

"This is your brother, and with him is his girlfriend of two years. What's her name?"
"W-Whats up, guys? How have you been?"
"We've been great. What's my name?"
"Uh, Claire?"
"Audience?"
"Lauren."

Y/N laughed to herself as she watched Vince bask in the fact that these people didn't know the names of people they probably see everyday. The game continued, and Daniel began to get irritated with Vince.

"You know what, Vince? You're a jerk."
"Well, I think your a jerk."
"I bet you couldn't name a member of the crew who works for the show."
"I know that names of the people who work for the show because I care."
"Prove it then."

All of a sudden, Y/N was being pushed out of stage in front of Vince and the contestants. She stood there awkwardly as Daniel spoke.

"Introduce yourself, please?"
"Okay, I...um... I'm a stage assistant, and I've been working for the show for about a year and half. I don't think I've actually held a long conversation with Mr. Blight. Although, I do bring you your coffee or occasional scotch on the rocks. What my name?"

Vince has a nervous look on his face that Y/N couldn't dissect. This man embarrassed people on TV for a living, why was he acting nervous now?

"Do you even know her name, Vince? Because that look on your face tells me that you don't."
"I know her name. It's Y/N Y/L/N."

Y/N's jaw dropped slightly as Vince guess her name correctly. She looked over at him and saw that he was already looking at her. She looked back at Daniel and nodded her head.

"He's right, and I honestly have no idea why."
"Damn, this isn't over, Vince Blight."

The camera panned towards Vince, and he smiled as soon as the car era was pinged directly at him.

"Well, that's our show. None of the contestants won, but hey, what else is now. Thanks for watching 'What's That Name?". Goodnight!"

With that, the show ended, and Y/N moved to walk off the stage. She stopped when she felt someone grab her wrist. She turned around and saw Vince standing behind her with a nervous look on his face.

"Yes, Mr. Blight?"
"Please, just call me Vince. I-I was wondering if you would like to maybe...um maybe...why is this so hard? God, you make me so nervous."
"I make you nervous? Why?"
"You're absolutely beautiful, and I've been dying to get the chance to talk to you alone, but I never got the chance till now. That's why I know your name. I don't actually know everyone's name, but I know yours because I wanted to get know you. I never tried to before because I was too nervous."

Y/N tired her best to follow the words coming out of his mouth. She honestly stopped listening to him after his first sentence. Vince actually wanted to talk to her, and that thought thrilled her. He stared into her eyes, and she looked back to him.

"Would you like to go out with me sometime?"
"I'd love to, Vince."

They both smiled at each other as they shared their contact information and talked about ideas for their first date. The stage manager began calling for Y/N, and she offered Vince a sad smile.

"I have to go back to work now. I can't wait for our date, Vince. I'll see you later."

She smiled widely at him before turning and walking toward the stage manager. Vince smiled to himself as he walked to his dressing room.

He really liked Y/N, and he wanted to be with her. He had been trying to talk to her ever since her first day, but something always came up. Now, he finally had her, and he wanted to be with her forever, but only time will tell what's ahead for the both of them.
