Y/N was super nervous to go with Aaron to the award luncheon. She didn't let her nerves stop her though. Aaron said he needed her there, so she was gonna be there for him.

He told her the event was formal, and he gave her his credit card and told her to go buy her a new dress. Y/N refused, and Aaron gave in and let her buy her own dress.

She bought a white dress that was covered in blue flowers. The blue on her dress matched Aaron's sparkling eyes.

They walked hand in hand into the ballroom at the venue. Y/N immediately felt out of place. She knew the people around her were rich, upper class citizens, and she was neither of those. She was a laid back girl who didn't come from an upper class family.

She sucked in a nervous breath of air as Aaron lead them to their table. People kept stopping Aaron and complimenting him on his work and congratulating him.

They sat down at their table and greeting the people sitting with them. Aaron did most of the talking, and Y/N sat there, awkwardly. Soon, a man come on stage and announced that the lunch was being served.

As soon as the guests were finished eating, another man came up to the stage and spoke about Aaron's work. He introduced Aaron up to the stage. Aaron stood up, kissed Y/N, and made his way to the stage.

The man handed Aaron his award, shook his hand, and walked off the stage, leaving Aaron up there by hisself. Aaron began his speech, and Y/N kept her eyes in him the whole time. She thought he was so cute when he was talking about his work.

Aaron's speech came to an end, and Y/N immediately stood up and clapped and cheered for him loudly. She looked around and saw that she was the only person standing. She quickly sat back down in her chair, attempting to hide the embarrassment on her face.

She felt someone tap on her shoulder, and she look over to her left and saw an older lady. The lady motioned for her to lean over towards her. Y/N did so, and the lady leaned towards her ear.

"You're an embarrassment to him. You were out of place to do that."

Y/N leaned back to her original place and thought about the words the lady spoke to her. She was pulled from her thought when Aaron sat back down in his chair. He put his arm around the back of her chair, and she suddenly stood up.

"Excuse me. I need to use the restroom."

Y/N quickly turned away from the table and made her way to the restroom. She opened the door and went over to the sinks and leaned her hands up against the counter. Tears started streaming down her face as the lady's words kept playing over in her head.

The door suddenly burst open causing Y/N to jump. She looked towards the door and saw Aaron standing there. She attempted to wipe the tears from her eyes without messing up her make up. She sniffled as Aaron walked over to her.

"Y/N, are you okay? Whats wrong?"
"Aaron, this is the lady's room. Why are in here?"
"You left in a hurry, and I wanted to make sure you were okay."

Y/N crossed her arms over her chest and looked at the floor. Aaron came closer to her and placed his hands in her cheeks, making her look at him. Y/N pushed herself away from him and wrapped her arms tighter around herself.

"I'm not okay, alright. I'm just a big embarrassment to you."
"Why do you say that?"
"The lady I was sitting beside told me that after I stood up and cheered for you. I guess she was right."

Aaron walked to where Y/N was standing and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly against his body. He pulled back and looked into her eyes.

"You could never embarrass me."
"What?"
"I love being with someone who cheers me on like that. You made this lunch ten times better by being here and supporting me. I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too, Aaron."

Aaron leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on Y/N's lips. She moved her arms and wrapped them around his neck. He pulled away and smiled at her.

"You wanna get out of here?"
"Is the lunch over with?"
"No, but I can lie and say that your lunch made you sick, and that we have to go."
"You'd do that for me?"
"I'd do anything for you, and plus, the rest is boring anyways."

Y/N pulled Aaron towards her and kissed him again. He pulled away and walked out of the bathroom. Y/N situated herself before exiting the bathroom. She saw Aaron talking to an older man. The man looked towards her, and she faked looking sick. The man said something to Aaron, and he started making his way down the hall to Y/N.

"Let's get you home before you get sick again."

Aaron wrapped his arm around Y/N and lead the elevators. Once they made it to the bottom floor, they exiting the building, laughing. They didn't care about the stares they were getting from the other New Yorkers.

Aaron hailed for a taxi, and they both climbed into one. Aaron gave the man his address and sat back against the seat getting comfortable again Y/N. She chuckled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. She laid her head on Aaron's shoulder and thought about how lucky she was to find someone who loved her, even though she can be embarrassing at times.
