october 15, 2006"Happy Homecoming!" Connie cheers. "Smile!"
Scott and Alyssa pose and smile.
"You kids look so cute! Have fun, be safe!" Connie says. "Scott, call me from the after party to reassure me you're alive!"
Scott laughs nervously. "Okay, Mom!"
Scott and Alyssa walk into the restaurant, get seated at a table, get their drink orders taken, then Scott feels bold.
"Lyss, can I tell you something?"
"Can I tell you something?" Alyssa asks.
"I-um, sure."
"Okay." She breathes out for a moment. "I love you, Scott."
Scott's eyes widen, shocked. "I, um, Lyss-"
"I've just, I've never felt like this before when it comes to guys. I actually thought I might like girls for a little while," she laughs at herself, "and then I met you. You just get me."
Scott nods, musters up a smile for Alyssa.
She loves him.
This is the moment you've been waiting for, Scott. Someone loves you.
"You said you had something to tell me, Scotty?" Alyssa asks.
Scott blushes at the thought of being loved.
He pushes back that thought he had earlier. No way he'd be as flustered as he is now if that was true...right?
"I, uh," Scott smiles. "I love you too. That's what I was going to tell you."

november 4th, 2017"Looks like it's raining," Scott says, looking out the window of the Starbucks. "Think we can make it?"
"Do you have an umbrella?" Mark asks.
Scott shakes his head no. "I do have a jacket we could attempt to hide under?" He offers.
Mark laughs. "Sounds like a plan."
They head towards the door, and Scott takes his jacket off, crouching it over himself and Mark.
"Ready?" Scott asks.
Mark nods. "3, 2, 1!"
They run out in the rain, although the jacket doesn't work as well as they'd hoped. Scott is quick to drop it in a puddle.
"Nooo!" Scott explains. "Now we're all wet!"
Mark just laughs. "That's okay!" he exclaims, and dramatically opens his arms up, tilting his face towards the sky.
"What are you, crazy?" Scott asks, running to his car.
Mark grabs onto Scott's wrist. "I've always wanted to try something," he says. "I know we've kissed plenty, but...I've never kissed anyone in the rain."
Scott blinks a few times. "I've never kissed anyone in the rain either."
Mark is quick to wrap his arms around Scott's neck, and pull him in for a kiss.
They kiss for a few moments, and they're both giggling when they pull apart.
"Let's get to the car, yeah?" Scott offers.
