Mark knocks on the hotel room door, and Kirstin is quick to open it.

"Hey, thanks for coming. Sorry you had to take time off of work." Kirstin says.

"The well being of Scott is more important to me. Where is he?" Mark asks.

"In the bathroom. He's gotten worse. It happens like this when he overworks himself. I can't get him out of there. He's really cramped himself into a corner." Kirstin says. "Mark?"

"Yeah?"

"Please be patient with him. He doesn't know you're here, and you've never seen him like this. —This is why Alex left him, he couldn't handle it. It's a big fear of Scott's that you'll leave him too. I promise that same old Scott you know and love is in there. It just might take some searching."

Mark nods, and then listens through the bathroom door and his heart breaks when he hears quiet crying.

He knocks twice.

Nothing.

He quietly opens the door, and he wants to cry at the sight.

Scott has himself cramped in a corner of the room, his hair a mess, and his face is in his hands, his shoulders shaking as a signal of his crying.

Mark quietly, carefully sits next to Scott, and places a hand on his knee. Scott flinches, and Mark removes his touch.

"Scotty, angel? Can you breathe for me?" Mark asks, and Scott looks up at the sound of Mark's voice.

"M-Marky? You're h-here?" Scott asks, and Mark nods. He frowns at how broken Scott sounds, and how wrecked he looks.

"It's me, baby, can you breathe for me? In and out, sweetheart. Nice, deep breaths."

Scott follow's Mark's directions, breathing in and out shakily, but deeply. After a minute or two, the tears stop.

"Can I hold you, angel?" Mark asks, and Scott nods. Mark pulls Scott into his arms, running his fingers through his baby soft hair. Scott tucks his face into Mark's neck. "What's the matter, honeybee?"

Scott shakes his head, still buried in Mark's neck.

"It'll make you feel a bit better if you talk about it, sweetheart."

Scott sits up a bit, and sighs. "Can we go to my bed? It's more comfortable than the bathroom floor, we can talk there."

Mark mumbles an "of course," kisses Scott's temple, and they head over to the bed, Mark immediately taking Scott back into his arms, running his fingers through Scott's hair like he was before.

Scott sighs. "I feel like I'm stretching myself in every possible direction. With all of this touring, recording an album, constant interviews, and photo sessions, it's been weeks since I've had a break. Just a day to relax, watch some movies, catch up on sleep, just not have any obligations."

Mark frowns. "What do you have tomorrow?"

"A recording session. I can't miss it because I sing lead on most of the songs in the new album. Saturday and Sunday I have shows, Monday I have interviews, Tuesday and Wednesday I have more shows. Marky, I don't know what I'm gonna—"

"Shh, baby, we'll figure something out." Mark says, "I'm so proud of you for talking about how you're feeling. I know that can be hard for you sometimes."

Scott exhales. He's confused when he hears faint ringing.

"Hey, Essie." Mark says, into his phone. "Scott really isn't feeling so well. It's flu-like symptoms. I know. It's bad. He doesn't seem to think he can go to tonight's interview or tomorrow's recording session, do you think you can reschedule? Thank you. You're the best. He appreciates it." Mark hangs up.

"What did you do?" Scott asks.

"I just got you all day today, and all day tomorrow completely free. Nothing scheduled. You really need it, angel." Mark kisses the top of Scott's hair.

Scott starts to cry again, and for a moment, Mark thinks he's done something wrong. It isn't until Scott whispers "thank you," that he realizes they're happy tears.

"You're welcome, now let's breathe again, okay?" Mark says, and Scott is quick to recover this time. "Now that we have the whole day free, what do you want to do?"

"Can we take a nap?" Scott weakly suggests, and Mark chuckles.

"Yeah, angel, of course."

Scott is quick to bury the both of them under the covers, and Mark places a lingering kiss on Scott's lips before they fall asleep.
