Bucky ducks his head and flinches as he hears the bullet that was meant for him find its target behind him. The brunette whirls around to see that it had lands in an enemy's arm, and he relaxes a little.

"Hey, Steve, we nearly done yet?" He shouts to his blonde boyfriend, who was fighting just as hard, just as viciously as he himself was. Steve glances over at him, dirt on his face and determination in his eyes.

"Almost." He replies, whipping around and smacking a bad guy in the face with his shield. Bucky smirks to himself and nods, loading his gun. He aims and fires into a bad guy's skull.

Bucky's eyes widen as he hears Steve let out a pained yelp. He darts to his side to see that the blonde had fallen after being shot in the arm with... something.

"Steve, you okay?" He asks quickly, half pulling-half dragging him to safety.

"I got shot." He replies, wincing a little and holding a hand to his shot arm.

"Yeah, yeah you did." Bucky sighs, pressing a somewhat clean piece of cloth onto the wound. It wasn't too bad and with his super soldier serum it should heal rather quickly.

"This is a mess." The blonde sighs, leaning back a little. Bucky nods slowly, watching him suspiciously. Something wasn't sitting right.

"Yeah." He says.

"Ever read Harry Potter?" He asks suddenly and Bucky frowns, looking around at the fight then back at the blonde.

"What?"

"Harry Potter."

"Uhm, no..." Bucky says slowly, he helps lift him up. He watches him carefully then realization washes over him.

"Ugh, f***." He hisses, closing his eyes. A.I.M. had been working on new tech; apparently they had created a bullet. The person who was shot with said bullet would constantly say stuff that was completely irrelevant to the situation at hand. Bucky'd read it somewhere in the mission files.

"I don't swear much." The blonde continues and Bucky sighs.

"I know. Look, can you just sit here while I finish up?" He asks of the blonde, who nods a little in return. Bucky sighs again before darting off.

An hour later he trots back, dirt on his face and blood leaking from a gash above his eye. He sits beside Steve and wipes the blood off his face.

"You're bleeding." Steve points out.

"Great, thanks for the information, Captain Obvious." He huffs, panting from being out of breath.

"I used to be tiny, you know." He hums thoughtfully and Bucky puts his face in his hands.

"I know, Steve." He replies calmly, but he was gritting his teeth. This was getting really, really annoying. Tony flies over, his suit shining in the bright sunlight.

"Barnes? You guys are still here?" He asks, his metal mask sliding up.

"Obviously." He replies, cleaning his weapons. Steve opens his mouth and Bucky huffs, he points a metal finger at him.

"Ah ah ah. Don't. Say it." Bucky cautions, so Steve closes his mouth again.

"Bad day?" Tony asks, dropping down onto the ground. Bucky snorts, hearing an enemy run up behind him. Without looking he loads his gun then blows their brains out, eyes glued to Tony.

"Yup. Something happened to Steve so he either states the obvious, or the useless." Bucky explains, hearing Steve comment on how he didn't really like Twilight or something. Tony nods. He looks around and sees that all the bad guys were being taken care of by the police force.

"Oh. That must be frustrating." Tony muses, sauntering over. He looks at the small little scar on Steve's basically healed arm.

"I could get it out of him." He offers and Bucky smirks a little, shaking his head. He looks up at the other brunette.

"Be my guest, Stark." He muses.

"Babies are born without kneecaps." Steve informs quietly and Bucky sighs. He turns to face the blonde.

"Okay, Steve, that's great." He lies, he runs a hand through his hair. The blonde smiles up at him and the brunette smiles back, he couldn't quite help it. Steve was acting a little younger than his actual age and Bucky supposed that was because of the bullet.

"You guys should get out of here, we're nearly finished anyway." Tony comments.

"I don't know how to dance, Buck." Steve comments and the brunette looks at him. The blonde goes quiet and Bucky hands him the shield, Steve slips it onto the clasp on his back.

"We'll be back at the tower." Bucky informs Tony, who nods and pats him on the shoulder.

"We'll finish up here, boys." He replies, Bucky smiles gratefully. He and Steve head back home.

"Did you know there's a fear of being watched by ducks? It's called Anatidaephobia." Steve says and Bucky frowns. He shakes his head as he opens the door to their area of the tower, their floor.

"Where do you even hear this stuff?" He mutters, sauntering in. Steve follows along.

///

"Okay, all done." Tony announces, pulling back from Steve's arm with the bullet. Bruce comes through and wraps his arm and Bucky watches.

"How're you doing?" He asks Steve, standing beside him and resting a hand on his shoulder. Steve smiles softly up at him and Bucky smiles back.

"Great, actually. Though I don't remember what happened." He frowns a little and Bucky shakes his head, he leans down and presses a kiss to the blonde's temple.

"Doesn't matter, Stevie. Don't worry." He muses, ruffling his hair. Steve merely nods and leans into his hand. Bucky smiles; this was better.
