This one will be short. I wanted to try something but I didn't see how I could make it too long so I'll just get right to it.

The world was coming to an end. That seems like something unreal, that couldn't possibly happen, and to the Rogers-Barnes', it was unreal. And it was happening.

"Hey," Steve says quietly, watching the brunette. Bucky's eyes were glued to the screen although they didn't need the news to know what was going on. Meteorologists had found a meteor, headed straight to Earth. It was huge, and promised to abolish everything. The world was in ruins; people ran frantic through the streets, robbing shops and people since they had nothing to lose. Fires broke loose as everything failed, the power was out in some countries and the army was trying- and failing- to keep everything together. The world was in a panicked state and everything was happening all together. It was happening too quickly for Bucky.

His life had been going along great; he had a good career, a great house, and a marvelous husband to share it with. Ever since Bucky had been young he had always been made fun of; either from being the small, frail weakling of the crew that happened to catch the eye of the common street bully, or because he was kind of childish, as in he was shy, nervous, and acted young sometimes. It was some sort of mental thing he had as a youngster that never went away.

"Bucky," Steve says when the brunette doesn't answer and Bucky looks over at him, his eyes were wide and he looked terrified.

"This is it?" Bucky swallows, flinching when he hears glass smash and a woman scream. Steve pulls him to his feet and Bucky hugs him tightly.

"We're gonna' be fine, baby," Steve soothes, running a hand up and down his back. "Will you dance with me?" He asks softly and Bucky looks up at him, he nods and sniffs a little.

The pair clasp hands tightly and start swaying to and fro. Steve started to sing one of Bucky's favorite songs. A children's song, but the brunette had always loved it.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray," Steve sings softly and Bucky buries his face in the crook of his neck, tears filling his eyes. Steve holds him close and kisses his forehead. He takes a quick glance at the tv, which was keeping track of the meteor. They only had mere minutes until impact.

"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." He sings and Bucky's shoulders start to shake as he just breaks down.

"I love you," he whispers to Steve, whose grip on him tightens just a little bit.

"I love you too," he whispers back. He glances out the window to see something faintly hurtling towards them, a mere speck; but it was rapidly getting larger. "Close your eyes, Buck."
"I'm scared," Bucky whimpers, squeezing him close.

"I know, baby," he says softly, running a hand through his hair. "Just close your eyes, okay?"

Bucky does so and starts to cry. Steve holds him close as the meteor hurtles towards them. The brunette takes in a shaky breath before starting to repeat the last verse, his favorite line of the song in a quivering voice.

"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine-"

The meteor hit.

Short, like I said.
