James passed me in the hall again today and slipped me another note with the number three on the corner. I wish I knew what it all meant. What's with the curved lines on pink paper? I have no idea. - Stephanie Rogers

James keeps hinting at something, I know it. He seems a little rough on the surface but I'm determined to get under his shell. He's really a huge softie. He gave me another pink note with the number four on it. He won't tell me anything, though, when I ask about it. I'll figure it out some day. - Stephanie Rogers

James was in a fight. I know he misses his mother a lot and that might be why; he loved her so much. Another note and I don't know why. - Stephanie Rogers

I've started putting the pieces together, connecting the lines, and so far it looks like half a circle. James still won't tell me anything. Oh, we made a catchphrase today. "'Til the end of the line." I like that; we're stuck together. Hope he doesn't get sick of me, if he hasn't already after all these years. - Stephanie Rogers

James gave me a rose today. I think he might love me, and... I think I might love him. He's such a gentleman, by sarcastic, cocky and sassy. His sass is awesome. I think I love him. - Stephanie Rogers

February 10, 1937James was hospitalized today. He got himself in a fight he couldn't back out of and took a real hit. I'm worried about him. I went to see him and he gave me three more notes then insturcted me to put them together, right then. I don't know how he knew I had them in my sketchbook, but I arranged them and they made a heart. He explained how he'd had a crush on me for years and that all those notes were all the times he concluded another reason he loved me. I was shocked, of course, but so, so happy. I know I love him too. I want to be with him as long as I can, 'til the end of the line. - Stephanie Rogers

"I do." Stephanie says quietly, smiling up at the handsome brunette opposite her. James Barnes smiles at her and his smile grows as he hears the priest say that they can kiss. He kisses her passionately and she hums. They lived happily 'til the end of the line, as promised.
