I'm gonna try to write the cheesiest, most terribly romantic thing I can. Like cringeworthy. Let me know if you guys actually cringed along with me, or if you truly liked it. Sorry if I end up accidentally offending someone, that won't be the intent.

"Bucky silently steps into the living room, fiddling with his fingers. It was raining outside, the clouds silently crying; Bucky knew he could relate. Silently crying, that's what he'd been doing for weeks now. He was such an emotional mess. Especially around... him.
He was going to be talking to him today, and what he was going to say, he knew it would break their hearts. Both of their hearts, together. He wasn't ready for this.
Steve Rogers walks in a few minutes after Bucky. Late, as usual. But Bucky didn't mind. He had all night.
"Hi, Steve," he whispers, his voice smooth like silk, the moonlight dancing across his pale skin.
"Bucky," Steve responds with a nod of his head, his voice warm and even smoother than Bucky's. The brunette felt a flutter in his stomach but swallowed it down.
"Listen, Steve... What we're doing." Bucky pauses and bites his lip gently, lowering his gaze from Steve's amazing, azure eyes. He feels wetness in his eyes but doesn't let tears fall down his cheeks. "I can't see you anymore."
"Why not?" Steve asks gently, a worried tone in his voice. His hand comes up to cup Bucky's cheek and the brunette looks up shyly at him, eyes shining with unshed tears.
"Steve, I don't wanna hurt you," he whispers, putting his own hand over Steve's. He pauses a moment before taking their hands away and folding his arms across his chest. He turns to face the window, the bright moonlight casting shadows on his features. "All the people I've killed. All the people I've hurt. I can't hurt you too," he whispers, gazing mournfully out of the window towards the nighttime beach, he watches the water droplets race each other down the window. A single tear slides down his face and he lets it drop to the floor.
"You won't hurt me. Whatever it is, we can handle it. Together," Steve says softly, stepping forward and taking his hand. Bucky turns to face him, another tear slipping down his cheek as he gazes sadly up at the blonde.
"I wish it were that simple," Bucky whispers, desperation in his voice as he gazes up at him. Steve lovingly places a kiss on his forehead.
"We can fix this together, James," Steve whispers and Bucky feels a shiver when he calls him that. He lowers his gaze once more and his bottom lip gives a little tremble.
"I'm sorry. I can't anymore, Steve. I want to be alone," Bucky says softly and Steve holds his hand a little tighter.
"Bucky -"
"I'm done, Steve. Goodbye," Bucky whispers before pulling away. He heads towards the door, opens it and slowly gazes back at the blonde. Steve's expression was nearly unreadable; he looked sad, confused. With a final tear slipping down his face, Bucky steps outside and starts running away from the little beach cabin, getting soaked from the rain.
"Bucky, please come back!" Steve calls desperately after him as he watches his figure run off into the rain. But Bucky didn't come back and eventually, crying few tears to himself, Steve went off to find somewhere he could be alone. More alone than he already was. Bucky Barnes had left him.
Bucky collapses onto his bed, tears streaming down his face. He'd lost Steve, his best friend, his lover. Bucky was now in for a life of loneliness, desolation, and sadness, and he wasn't ready for this. Not at all."
"What garbage was that?" Bucky snorts as he looks at Steve. Bucky had found a fan-fiction and asked Steve to read it to him, and of course, out of pure curiosity, Steve agreed to. It was supposedly about them, after all.
"That was something, all right," Steve comments, sliding Bucky's laptop back over to him. Bucky gives his head a shake as he closes his laptop down.
"Geez." He shakes his head.
"Oh, James, don't leave me all by my lonesome," Steve croons in a higher pitched voice, batting his eyelashes.
"I'm sorry, Steve, but... " Bucky pauses and closes his eyes then places his hand over his heart. "I can't bear the thought of losing you," he says dramatically with a fake sob, turning away from him and holding a hand out, as if to ward away a beast.
"We can fix it. Together," Steve croons and Bucky pretends to swoon.
"Oh, Stevie," he says in a breathy voice, opening his eyes to look at Steve through his eyelashes. The blonde gets down on a knee and offers him a hand. Bucky takes it so very gently and Steve stands up.
"Please, James. Will you be mine?" He asks, making his voice sound sultry. Bucky pretends to fan himself and bats his eyelashes.
"I wish I could, Steve... But I want to be alone now so randomly and suddenly," Bucky breathes, dropping Steve's hand and turning away then sniffling obviously.
"So randomly? So... Sudden? I wasn't expecting this when you told me moments ago you didn't want me," Steve replies in a shocked voice, pretending to be surprised and sad.
"I'm sorry, Steve," Bucky whispers again in a breathy voice, pretending to wipe a stray tear away from his eye. He whirls around to go and run off only to come face to face with Sam, who had a video recorder and a huge smirk on his face. He'd caught the whole thing.
"Guess what's going on YouTube tonight, suckers." He grins before skipping out the doorway. Bucky looks at Steve quickly.
"Can I go kill him?"
"Be my guest, sweetheart," Steve agrees and Bucky smiles before chasing after Sam, shouting threats if he didn't get that video off. Steve merely smirks and shakes his head.
