"Almost there, sir." The taxi driver informed, glancing back at the blonde man in the back. Steve Rogers nodded a little, glancing out the window at the dark scenery. It had been a rainy night and Steve was headed to meet his boyfriend, he had a surprise for him and had urged the taxi to go faster. He was excited to see Bucky's reaction to his surprise.

The taxi driver squinted out the front window, the windshield wipers working like crazy to clear away the steady stream of water pouring down. The taxi swerved and Steve sat up properly, frowning a little. He looked up front at the taxi driver who smiled nervously at him before turning back to the road.

"Little slippery out, eh?" The taxi chuckled a little, gripping the wheel tightly. He looked back out the front and cursed, seeing a semi-truck skidding towards them. He swerved to try to avoid it but the semi crashed into them, both vehicles went skidding off the road. The taxi was smacked into his seat and Steve had his head smacked forcefully against the window. The semi crashed onto them and finally they stopped moving completely.

Bucky checks the clock hanging above the door of the restaurant and frowns a little. Half an hour ago Steve told him to meet him there, but obviously, the blonde was very late. Bucky felt a wave of anxiety wash over him. What if Steve never planned to come? What if this was a prank? What if he was planning to break up with him? Bucky couldn't bear the thought; Steve was his everything.

A tv across the way turns onto the news and Bucky sighs, running a hand through his medium-length brown hair. Since he has nothing better to do and Steve wasn't answering his phone, Bucky gets up and goes over to the tv. Halfway there he hears reports of a car accident and freezes when he hears the report of a tall blonde, name unknown. His heart drops into his stomach when he gets a glimpse of the accident.

A semi was wedged on top of a taxi car, metal pieces were everywhere but that wasn't what he was staring at. He stares at who they were dragging out of the wreckage.

Bucky turns on his heel and heads out the door without a word of explanation to the waiters who questioned him. Panic was starting to set in now as he ran down the street to the scene of the crash. He runs as fast as he can, hair flying out behind him and his breathing hard. Eventually he arrives, out of breath and full out panicking.

"Sir, this is blocked off from the public while he clean up." An officer informs, trying to keep him away. Bucky shoves his way through and frantically looks around for an ambulance. The officer grabs his arm and Bucky whirls around.

"Please, my boyfriend was in there, I need to make sure he's okay." Bucky explains hurriedly, pulling away. The officer sighs and lets him go, knowing he would've pulled away anyway.

Bucky spots him just as he's being loaded in and his breathing falters.

He races over to Steve and convinces the medics to let him come along. He stays with Steve, who doesn't stir during the drive.

Bucky paces worriedly as they fix up his boyfriend, trembling and just a mess. A doctor comes out and informs him he's allowed in. Bucky steps inside and sighs in relief when he sees Steve.

The blonde was just waking up as Bucky took a seat beside him and took his hand. Steve looks over at him and manages a small smile. He had a concussion and his face had a lot of bruises and gash marks, but he knew he'd heal. Apparently part of the truck broke off and Steve was stabbed with the bit.

"Hey." Bucky says softly and Steve nods a little.

"Hey." He whispers, one of the first words he's said all night. Bucky smiles a little.

"This wasn't my surprise, I promise." Steve says and Bucky shakes his head, smiling a little. Steve smiles back.

Apparently his surprise was a ring; he asked Bucky to marry him and of course, the brunette agreed.

Steve got better, as everybody knew he would, but from then on he just didn't trust cars, especially driving on dark, wet nights. Bucky of course tried to convince him it would be fine but Steve wasn't hearing it. So he walked most places and Bucky usually went with him.

Months later all their friends were going to go bowling out of town and Steve and Bucky were invited, but they had to drive out. After a while of convincing Steve agreed to come along.

They all pile into the van and Steve sighs before hesitantly climbing in himself. Bucky sits beside him and takes his hand as they start off down the road. Everything was fine, as Bucky knew it would be. Steve was just glad to have Bucky.

So, guys, not too sure I'll finish this or not. Sorry, just... life is happening so I don't know what to do. Yeah. Issues. I'll see.
