"Okay, everybody, the votes are in," Tony announces, looking around at the group of representatives of the holidays. Bucky leans back against Steve and crosses his arms, watching attentively. He'd gotten Halloween the last four years in a row and was hoping for something new.

"C'mon, Stark, hurry up," Clint says, curling his fingers through Natasha's hair gently.

"Keep your shirt on. Seriously," Tony huffs. "Alright, Christmas is to Thor this year," he begins and the tall, muscular Shakespearean blonde grins. "Easter is to Clint, April Fools to me, Thanksgiving for Bruce, Valentines to Nat for some odd reason, Halloween for Steve and Independence Day for Bucky."

Steve raises an eyebrow and looks down at Bucky, who looked equally confused. Usually, they got the exact opposite. Bucky liked causing mischief and Steve was the most patriotic guy around.

"You sure you read that right?" Bucky checks, looking at Tony, who smirks. Everybody voted for everybody else's.

"We figured you two should expand your horizons," Bruce explains.

"You guys kept all your original ones," Steve points out and Clint shrugs a shoulder.

"Not so, Captain, I was given the duties of Easter last year," Thor chimes in his olden speech.

"Yeah, and we changed your role when you started hiding with the chocolate bunnies just to see the kids' reactions," Nat interjects and Clint smirks a little.

They all head off in their own directions after settling matters.

"Why did I get Halloween?" Steve moans, flopping his face onto Bucky's chest. The brunette kisses his forehead and rubs his back.

"No need to be so whiny, you'll do fine," he says. "But how the h*** am I supposed to handle Independence Day?" He frowns and Steve shrugs his broad shoulders.

"Just love America, support all human rights, and be proud of the country," Steve mumbles into the brunette's shirt.

"Hmm?" Bucky hums, lifting his head up to look him in the eyes. "So be you all the time?" Steve loved America. A lot. Especially the colours.

"Sure, Buck, sure," he replies, sitting up properly. The brunette shifts and sits on his lap. He boops Steve's nose and the blonde twitches his nose. "Why?"

"'Cause," the brunette replies, leaning back and using him as a pillow. Steve wraps an arm around him and kisses the top of his head.

Time flew by and before he knew it Bucky was up for Independence Day.

"How do I look?" He asks Steve, spreading his arms out to show off his clothes. He was wearing pants that looked like the American flag, red and white striped on one side while blue with stars on the other leg. He also wore a red, white and blue scarf, a dark blue velvet suit top, and a low hanging white shirt. To top it all off he had a top hat with a red, white and blue ribbon tied around the rim and a fake founding fathers beard. He looked kind of ridiculous and Steve snorted.

"I'm sorry, it isn't funny. You look very patriotic," Steve tries and Bucky rolls his eyes.

"I have to be patriotic, stupid looking or not," he whines, putting his hands on his hips. Steve smirks.

"You don't look that stupid," he says and Bucky sticks his tongue out.

"Uh huh. Well, I got somewhere to be, baby," Bucky muses, adjusting his hat. Steve hugs him then lifts up the fake beard and kisses him. Bucky kisses back, smiling a little.
