What if Bucky and Steve were introduced to all the technology based things right off the bat and were told about hashtags, selfies, and emojis?

"They've really changed the phone," Bucky comments, flipping an Iphone over between his hands before putting it down on the table.

"Yep. Tony gave me a list of new vocabulary he said we oughta' go over," Steve muses, pulling his notebook out of his back pocket. He usually kept it on him.

"Let's see it then," Bucky hums, flopping onto the couch. Steve sits beside him and the brunette splays his legs out on his lap.

"Okay... uh, selfies?" Steve says, Bucky sits up and peers over his shoulder.

"What the h*** is that?" He frowns, leaning back and folding his arms. Steve shrugs a shoulder.

"Well, it says self-y, so..."

"Obviously something for you to do alone. That's kinda' selfish."

"It's called selfie for a reason, Buck."

"Yuh huh, what's the next one?" He asks, leaning forward and resting his chin on his shoulder.

"Swag?" He says a little uncertainly and Bucky wrinkles his nose.

"That's such an ugly name. Swag?" He scoffs, rolling his eyes.

"What even is swag, I don't get it," Steve frowns, Bucky shrugs. "Maybe it's a style?"

"Maybe. Next," he declares, he moves and sits on his lap and Steve puts his arms around him.

"What the h***? What is a lol?"

"A lol?"

"Yeah. L-o-l, that's it exactly," Steve says and Bucky sticks his bottom lip out.

"It sounds so weird when you say it," he whines.

"Lol," Steve repeats and Bucky groans.
"Hate you," he grumbles and the blonde kisses the top of his head.

"I know," he hums, hugging him around the middle. Bucky leans his head back and kisses his cheek.

"Maybe it's losers only lol," he suggests and Steve shrugs.

"Next one up is yolo," he muses and Bucky raises an eyebrow.

"Yolo," he repeats and Steve nods. "What are these kids doing with their lives, like seriously." He huffs.

"No idea. Stark told me this means you only live once."

"That's just a given. Why turn it into such... propaganda?" Bucky frowns and again Steve shrugs. The brunette picks up the notebook and he frowns at the next one.

"Ttyl means... talk... to you..." he mutters, trying to figure it out on his own. "Talking takes your life? Touchy topics yolo losers?"

"Again, losers? Why?"

"I don't know. People are losers," Bucky shrugs.

"Be nice, Buck," Steve warns and the brunette looks up at him innocently.

"What? It's only us here," he protests and Steve rolls his eyes.

"Still. It means talk to you later," he says and Bucky makes an 'oh' sound.

"That makes sense," he agrees, looking back down at the booklet. "Four more to go."

"Stark said this one was popular," Steve points out a strange looking one and Bucky lets out a low whistle.

"People can't actually be using these in daily life," he scoffs. "Okay... so there's bae, otp, fam, and rekt?"

"Otp is one true pairing, I think," Steve says and Bucky looks at him. "The internet is a strange place." He adds and the brunette nods.

"Bae, could it be baby? Just a lazy term of baby?" He frowns at it.

"Nat told me it was before anyone else but..." Steve shrugs again. "Obviously I wasn't too sure."

"Of course not," Bucky hums, reaching up and patting his cheek. "I'd take her word for it, though, she's been around longer than you."

"Oh, really? She's ninety something years old?"

"Could be. Natalia's very secretive," Bucky says, glancing up at him briefly before looking back at the words.

"Oh yeah, and please never say bae again."

"Why not?" He dares.

"It sounds off," Steve says and Bucky smirks evilly.

"Bae. Bae bae bae bae bae bae bae," he chimes and Steve groans.

"You sound like a sheep," he groans and Bucky chuckles. "Fine. Lol lol lol lol lol-" he starts but Bucky kisses him and he falls quiet.

"Steve... no," he says when he pulls away, and the blonde was stunned to silence. "So anyway. Fam and rekt."

"Kids are always cheering and shouting like 'get rekt'," Steve muses and Bucky raises a curious eyebrow.

"You know this how?"

"Internet."

"Ah," Bucky nods. "Maybe it's like, 'take that, sucker'?"

"That's probably it," Steve agrees.

"Okay, and now fam."

"Family?" Steve guesses and Bucky nods in agreement.

"Sounds like it. Why shorten family though? Are kids really that lazy?" He huffs and Steve gives him a look.

"Well, that's just the world now," he shrugs and Bucky hums something.

"Well, the world is strange," he declares and Steve nods.

"Agreed."
