Your POV:

I called her and waited for an answer.

"Hello?"

"Press what's up? What do we need to talk about."

"The girl I told you about."

I smiled. "What about her?"

"I told her. Everything."

"How'd she react?"

"I don't know. How did you react?"

Wait. What?

"Press?"

"Look. I know you and Kelley but she doesn't deserve you. I like you. Everything I said is 100% true. Your smile is the highlight of my day. When Kelley hurt you, all I wanted to do was kick her ass. Whatever you and Kelley have right now, it's complicated. I know that cause you've told me. I want you to be happy. Give me a chance to make you happy."

"Christen-"

"I'm an idiot." She said. "You like O'Hara. I'm stupid."

"Chri-"

"Why would you give me a chance?"

"Christen Annemarie Press can you let me talk?" I smiled. "Damn women. Look. I don't know what I feel for Kelley right now. She messed up but we actually just talked and agreed to be friends. She's gonna give me space."

"So you don't know if you like her?"

"I don't know anything right now." I said. "All I know is I'm finally living my dream of being a professional soccer player, have great friends, and scored in my first cap with the US." I smiled.

"I trust you, Christen. You always know what to say when I'm down. You listen to me when I need someone or just sit with me in silence. You love seeing me smile and to be honest, most of the time I smile is because I remember I have you in my life."

"Can our hang out something turn into a date? I'm just asking for a chance."

"It's a date."

"Yes." I heard her whisper.

"Cute."

"Oh you heard that? I mean cool. I'll text you later."

"Bye Press." I laughed.
