Your POV:

Both teams headed towards the locker room to get ready to the medal ceremony. Mal jumped on my back. "We did it! First team to win a world cup then gold medal!"

"She needs to calm down. Not all of us are gold medalists." Steph said.

"But all of us are medalists." Alex smiled. "And that's something to be happy about."

"I let them down." Alanna walked by covering her face.

"She's still upset." Kyah stopped and said. She went into their locker room.

"We'll see you out there." Steph smiled and walked in.

We went into ours and the celebrations began.

"We won gold!" Heather jumped up and down. "And we didn't have to play Japan to get it!"

"Y/N." Jill said. "Step outside with me for a minute."

I looked at her then back at the team. "Ok." I went outside.

"Sunil Gulati is on the phone." She said. "He wants to speak with you." She gave me the phone.

I took it. "Hello?"

"Y/N. Congratulations on the win."

"Thank you. It was a team effort."

"That it was. We need to have a meeting when you all return from Brazil to discuss your future. Enjoy the rest of your Olympics. Tell all the ladies I said congratulations."

"I will. Thanks." I hung up. Jill took the phone.

"Doesn't look good?" She said.

"Not good at all." I sighed. She patted my arm and went back inside. I heard them celebrating as I sat out here.

5 goals this whole tournament and now my future needs to be discussed?

I slid down the wall and sat there. "For someone who just won gold you don't look too happy."

I looked up. "Small person."

"Katrina. Or mini. Everyone else just calls me mini." She sat across from me. "You won gold why you so upset? Be happy. Alanna's in there crying like a baby."

"So you're out here instead of comforting your teammate?"

"Kyah's got it." She said. "So why you upset?"

"I might get fired when we get back home." I said. "All because that stupid article."

"Your federation seems ridiculous." She said. "Switch and come play for the matildas."

"And have to compete with all the talent on that squad? Pass."

"True. We're just too good."

"You guys are at least a silver medal."

"Too soon."

We went back to our teams and then headed onto the field to get our medals. Canada got their bronze medals. Yeah they won bronze again.

They were pissed.

Australia stepped up to get their silver medals. One by one they got them. "Alanna Kennedy!" She stepped up. The crowd cheered for her, so did we.

She got happy and waved.

We got announced and stepped up.

Ethan's POV:

"Hope Solo!"

"HOPE!" Chloe screamed.

"Shut up." Gabe pushed her.

"Mallory Pugh! Allie Long!"

"Why?" Chloe said.

"Be nice."

"But no."

"Becky Sauerbrunn!"

"BROON!!" The crowd screamed.

"Kelley O'Hara! Whitney Engen! Meghan Klingenberg! Julie Johnston! Heather O'Reilly! Carli Lloyd! Ali Krieger!"

"SHE FINALLY GOT HER GOLD MEDAL!! I'M NOT CRYING YOU ARE!"

"You're such a fangirl I hate it sometimes." I smiled.

"Christen Press! Alex Morgan! Morgan Brian!"

"THERE SHE IS!" My mom screamed.

"Y/N L/N!" She got up and waved to the crowd. All the US players clapped for her, same with the Australian's.

The Canadians looked ready to murder her.

"Crystal Dunn! Tobin Heath! Alyssa Naeher!"

They all had their medals. Y/N held hers and smiled.

"That's our girl!" Mom said.

"Yes Y/N!" Dad said.

"USA! USA! USA!" The fans started chanting.

"Please rise for the national anthem of the United States of America!" We all stood up.

Your POV:

The anthem played and the flag rose above the others.

Not only am I an Olympian, I'm an Olympic medalist.

I'm bringing home a gold medal for my country, and my federation still wants to get me out.

Maybe I'll take Gorry up on that offer.

Aussie in training.

That's real nice Y/N. Thinking about going to another country while the anthem plays.

It ended and we waved to the crowd again. I grabbed an American flag and jogged around the stadium. I spotted my family and held the flag high.

"Babe we won a gold medal." Kelley walked up next to me and waved to her family.

"I know." I smiled. "A gold medal and a girlfriend like you? Just the best."

"Sweet." She said. "Leave the corny shit to me alright?"

"No promises O'Hara."

"You love me L/N."

"That I do."
