You recently moved to Tatsumi Port Island due to your parents work. The decision didn't bother you too much, as a quick search online showed it was a rather beautiful place.
The closest school was Gekkoukan High, so naturally you were enrolled there. It was Sunday, so you had free time until then. You decided to explore the area so you wouldn't get lost in the future. The air was a bit chilly, causing you to nuzzle your face into your handmade scarf.
You visited the shrine, known as Naganaki Shrine, then walked around Paulownia Mall to window shop a bit. After being bored of that, you simply wandered around until you came across a place called Iwatodai Strip Mall. The scent of ramen wafted int he air, making you hungry.
From where you were standing you could see shops lined up next to each other, then a spiral staircase leading up to where you could guess would be more shops to visit. One that caught your eye was a bookshop.
Walking towards it, you thought about what kind of books they'd have in stock. The shop looked old, but you could tell it was taken care of. Then you saw a boy right in front of you.
You collided into him, and fell to the ground, as did he. You heard the sound of books dropping. Without a second thought you picked them up, making sure there was no rips or tears on the pages.
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Are you okay?" You asked, standing up. The boy looked up at you, a surprised look on his face.
His features were unique compared to the other people who resided here. He had blond hair and bright blue eyes. Was he born here, or somewhere else...?
"H-hai, yes! I also, was not paying attention!" He apologised. You held out your hand to him and he took it with a grateful expression.
"Well, here's your books. I hope they're not damaged." You said, taking another look at them. He nodded, jumping a bit when your fingers made contact with his.
"Iie, no. They are perfect, arigatou!" He said, bowing slightly.
"Oh, good." Your phone went off in your pocket so you took it out, eyes widening when you saw the time. "Shoot, I have to go. Bye!"
Before he could respond, you ran off. He only stared at your fading figure, holding tightly on the spine of the book.

"Remember, you can't be late for the train! Also, do you have everything? I can't drop by and bring you your things anymore, okay?"
You picked up your bag, nodding. "I got everything, Dad! I'll see you later."
He sighed, but nonetheless smiled at you. "Alright, have a good day."
You weren't able to walk to school due to the large body of water in the way, so the train was the only way to go. You soon learned that you didn't mind this though, as being high above the glimmering water was actually pleasant, making you feel as if you were flying.
The train eventually slowed, the announcer telling you this was your stop. Many students filed out of the train, so even if you were lost you could follow them to know where to go.
The school was large, with Sakura trees lined up at each side. Many students were walking with friends in large groups or in pairs, making you feel like you stood out. You shook the thought off though.
Class was just as you had expected. You were called up front to introduce yourself, then were seated. During break some people came to your desk, asking where you came from and what stuff like you liked. The sudden attention made you feel shy and awkward though, so you ended up answering their questions with one word.
