Exam season was tough. Just the knowledge of having tests in so many subjects was enough to make you want to rest your head, studying for them was a different level of stress.

For a while you had stayed by your desk in a position that was most definitely not beneficial to your posture, with half open books in front of you and various pens strewed around.  As hard as you tried though, none of the information would sink in, and knowing the days until your test weren't long, you had been giving up sleep in order to get as much study time as possible.

Right away your friends had noticed your dark eyes and haggard expression as you came to class each day, and your silence on weekends where you'd go without contact with them.

The bell rang as it did all days, and your chair screeched against the floor with your standing. "I'll see you guys, bye..." You said before leaving, and not long later you were out the door.

Yukiko mouth twisted in an uncertain frown. "Don't you think something's off with Y/n? They've been quite distant lately."

"I get what you mean. At this point, they're seriously poking worse for wear. Think they're sick?" Chie suggested.

Teddie popped up. "Y/n's sick?"

"Gah, what the-?!" Yosuke jumped from his seat, shooting a glare as soon as he saw the reason for his shock. "Teddie, why are you at school, again? You don't go here!"

"You just wouldn't get it Yosuke, school is something every youth experiences! At least that's what it's like in your watchamacallits." Teddie tutted.

"That's manga... And hey, don't say that as if I'm old!" Yosuke reprimanded, but it seemed to go unheard.

Teddie turned to Yu. "Sensei, is Y/n really sick?"

Thinking for a moment, Yu answered. "Sick of exams, maybe."

"That's right, I forgot!" Chie's face lit up in recognition, but soon fell. "Exams... I forgot..."

"Think maybe they're overdoing it then? I guess that's why they look so drained, that much work takes the life out of you." Yosuke reasoned with understanding. "But I doubt they'd stop now, even if we said."

"Yeah, they're quite hard-headed in that regard." Yukiko spoke. "I'm worried. Do you think Y/n will be alright?"

Chie sighed, unsure. "I dunno... They do look super tired."

Taking all this in, Teddie nodded to himself with a few "hm's" here and there. Not long after he put a hand to his fist, a determined demeanour now present. "Okay! So these ex-ams are making Y/n tired? I'll help!"

"... Help how? Also  if you feel like showing up here, you should be taking these exams too." Yosuke said, unimpressed.

"Nope, no time for that Yosuke! I've got a mission!" In usual Teddie-fashion, he rushed away like a whirlwind. Odd since his strength is ice...

Holding back a yawn, you gripped your pen and blinked hard. Who knew going so many hours without sleep made it hard to focus? Every time you'd try pay attention to the contents of your textbook, you'd slowly doze off into the palm of your hand, only to suddenly wake up and face a real life nightmare.

You were accidentally napping again when your door opened, startling you. "Y/n, I'm here to help!"

Feeling dazed and eyes unfocused, you gazed at the door, first seeing a bright blonde. "... Teddie? What are you... How did you get here?"

"I walked! Fitness doesn't go ignored by this bear."

You would've laughed if not for your exhaustion. "I meant, how did you get into my house?"

"Oh, easy! Your parents let me in!" He replied with the same amount of cheerfulness. Before you had the chance to say more, he strolled over to your desk. "What's all this paper?"

"It's my notes. I need it to study for my exams." You answered. "I don't have much longer left, so I need to focus. Sorry, but can you visit another time?"

Teddie response was delayed, and so was your reaction as he leaned into your face. "But you look really tired! That can't be good."

After you finally realised the closeness, you turned your seat to face your desk, and to hide your shy expression. "It's only been a few all-nighters. Once exams are done I'll sleep as long as I need. I'll be fine."

"Hmm." He looked unconvinced. "What if you collapse in class? You'd be a total knock-out, and not in a good way!"

You paused. What if you did? You didn't want to make a scene like that, and you were already so exhausted. Could you really keep this up for another few days?

"But I..." You found yourself spilling all your thoughts. "I've been trying to study, but I just can't! I'm running out of time, but I just can't remember anything from class...!"

Teddie began to wave his hands in a panic at your croaky voice and teary face, and kneeled by your seat. "D-Don't worry! I don't know how an exam is, but everyone is else is getting ready for it too. You can study with them!"

You brought a sleeve up to your eye. "Wouldn't I be a bother at that point? I don't know anything..."

He only laughing gleefully. "Neither do they!"

Despite your previous unwavering stress, you managed to giggle at his reply. Teddie smiled happily at the sound.

"But it's easier doing things together. You don't have to do everything by yourself!"

Finally feeling calm after what felt like forever, you smiled back at him. "Yeah... I guess I forgot that." You looked to the calendar. "Well there is a week left until exams... I guess I can take a nap."

He threw his hands up in the air, delighted his mission was a success. "Hooray! Then I'll take a nap with you!"

"Okay, then- wait, you're what?" You stammered, unsure you heard right.

"It'd be more comfortable with the two of us, right? I can't think of anyone I'd be more cosy with!" Teddie said honestly. "I can give you a bear hug!"

You blushed at his sincerity. It could be nice...

"Alright, sure..." You mumbled, feeling awkward as you lay down on your bed.

The few seconds of waiting for Teddie to settle were somehwat neeve-watching, but the feeling dissipated as Teddie wrapped his arms around you and nestled his cheek against your arm. It really was a bear hug, and it was even more comforting than you thought it'd be. Not that you thought about it often though, just on occasion!

In his warm embrace you found yourself drift off rather quickly, and seeing you finally relax and sleep peacefully, Teddie did too.
