The somewhat boring but nonetheless comfy shops in Inaba always seemed to sell the same things, the same shelves stacked with items you've seen time and time again. You could understand why many flocked to Junes for a better shopping experience, but you still loved that shopping street.
That's why you were ultimately surprised when you saw something new in the otherwise familiar textile shop; a row of handmade plushies lined up on a table.
Immediately after seeing them you approached the table, kneeling down slightly for a closer look.
"I see they've caught your eye." An elderly voice chuckled, and before recovering from your surprise you jumped.
"Oh, yeah!" You replied, gesturing to the soft looking animal plushies. "They're so cute."
The old woman smiled gently. "My son made those, I'm sure he'd be happy to hear that."
"You have a son?" You questioned in curiosity. She nodded, looking proud.
"Yes, I do." She confirmed. "Actually, he's about your age. He can be quite a handful at times, but he's grown quite a bit."
"I see." You smiled back at her. "I think I'll buy one then!"
After spending some time to decide on which adorable plush you wanted, you settled on a soft bunny. The elderly lady, although slow in her actions, cheerfully bagged it for you after you had paid, and when you left out the door she waved goodbye.
It hadn't been long since you had seen the rabbit plush, but you couldn't help but take another look once you were outside. It was amazing how well crafted it was, even a person without sewing knowledge would see it, not to mention how lovely the stuffed toy was.
In fact, you liked looking at it so much you attached it to your school bag once you got home.
_____________________________________________
Just like the rest of Inaba, your school days were peaceful, and that stood true for today as well. Other than the amount of schoolwork you were given...
Wanting to make the most of your free time, you decided to relax by the river for a bit before going home to study. Ever since that unpleasant fog, you've been very grateful to see the same old blue sky.
You were feeling pretty fatigued, and after placing your bag on the table you sighed before opening your eyes once more. As you did, they met with another pair.
"Ah."
The boy in front of you stared at you wide-eyed, his hands had completely stilled from their movements. When you looked down, it seemed he was knitting?
After some silence, it was like somebody has hit 'play', and all of a sudden you began to talk whilst the boy remained silent. You were beginning to worry since his shocked expression hadn't budged an inch...
"Sorry, I didn't notice you were here!" You apologised. "Oh, but are you knitting?"
The boy looked conflicted, but you were just glad he had finally moved somewhat from his statue form. "Y... Yeah, Wh-What of it?!"
You didn't pay any mind to his (accidentally) loud reply, only peering at his creation. "Wow, you're good!"
His response was delayed. "Wait, huh? You think so?"
You gave a cheerful nod in return. "Mhm! I can see you're not done yet, but is it a fox?"
"Uh, yeah, it is..."
You beamed, smiling brightly. "I thought so! It looks so cute with that little scarf."
Although his features were tough and serious, they were softened by the redness spreading across his cheeks as he scratched his ear. "Ah, yeah... Th-Thanks."
