"Heeeey, are you coming?" An upbeat voice asked. You jumped slightly.
Looking upwards from your desk, you saw the familiar face of your friend Chie Satonaka. She grinned at you, hands on her hips. You smiled back at her.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that." You apoligised, standing up. She shook her head.
"No, it's fine. I'm just a little worried." She frowned. "You've been spacing out a ton."
Her worry for you made you feel better. "It's nothing, really! I'm just getting used to this place." You admitted. Chie had an expression of understanding.
"I see, I guess that makes sense. Don't worry, I'll help ya out!" She offered, face lit up as usual again. You picked up your bag and left the classroom with Chie. The two of you walked down the halls when you noticed someone was missing.
"Hey, where's Amagi-san?" You asked.
"She's helping out at the inn again, she says it's always busy this time of year. You know, I'm sure she won't mind you calling her Yukiko!" She assured.
You fiddled with your hair absentmindedly with a soft smile. "Is that okay?"
Chie gave you a thumbs up. "Sure it is! We're friends, you know?"
Her kindness made you feel welcome, and your smile grew. You nodded at her, and she smiled back at you. While you were walking Chie suddenly looked surprised.
"Oh, hey guys." She greeted. Two boys looked at her, smiling. One was tanned with short hair, a brown plaster across his nose. The other was paler with shaggy dark blue hair.
"What's up, Satonaka?" The tanned one asked.
Chie pulled you over gently. "Walking home with Y/n! What about you two?"
"We were going home too, it's raining so both our practices got cancelled." He answered, looking disappointed. "Y/n, huh? My names Daisuke."
The dark blue haired one stepped forward as well, giving you a smile. "And I'm Kou, nice to meet ya."
The sudden attention made your cheeks feel warm, and you couldn't think of what to say exactly. "Y-you too."
"She just transferred, so she's getting used to the place." Chie explained. You nodded.
"Wow, this school's popular when it comes to transferring. If you ever get lost come find us, alright?" Daisuke said, and Kou laughed.
"You might get even more lost with him helping you."
"Hey, I know my way around!"
Chie and you laughed at their banter, when Chie glanced outside.
"Sheesh, it's really coming down! We should get going." She said, looking over to you. The two boys nodded, waving at you both.
You exited the school ground with the greed-clad girl, the two of you huddling under a single umbrella as she forgot her own. She let out a sigh.
"I wonder if it'd be okay for now..." She mumbled.
You tilted your head. "What are you talking about?"
She didn't seem to realise she was talking aloud, and began to laugh nervously. "Oh, nothing. There's... A leak! In my house, so I was just wondering if the bucket's full yet, ahaha..."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Hopefully things are okay." You said and she smiled wryly. "Yeah, me too... Hey, what do you think so far?"
You thought about what she said, puzzled. "About what?"
