With the palace of Sae Nijima thoroughly explored and the route to the treasure clear, all there was to do was send the calling card. However Akechi, the newest addition to the Phantom Thieves suggested you all waited to the last possible second in order to make Sae panic.
You weren't too bothered about the decision, but thinking of waiting to the very last day made you nervous although you didn't admit it aloud. If you and the rest messed this up, it'd all be over...
That's why you were currently trying to find the best distraction to calm your nervous mind. If you were this anxious in the palace, then you'd mess up for sure. You had to just get all your feelings out of the way first!
That was your plan, but you weren't in any clubs. That and it seemed like everyone was busy. Akira, although he didn't look it, had a full schedule. You remember him mumbling about going to the bathhouse but you were too busy getting over your disappointment at that point in the conversation.
Ryuji told you he wanted to train some more, while Yusuke mentioned he was going to go get some free samples. Ann had her modelling job, and Makoto wasn't really in the mood to hang out, which you could understand.
A sigh left your mouth as you half-listened to the school's gossiping. It seemed like everyone had something new to chat about every week.
'I guess I'll just take the long way home.' You thought to yourself, slowing your footsteps.
With nothing else to do, you walked out into the courtyard with your gaze downcast, a slight frown tugging at the corners of your lips. In your dazed walk you weren't paying attention, and of course you had to bump into something.
"Ow." A light voice uttered, causing you to look up. Instead of a face, you saw a bag of soil.
"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. My bad." You apologised. The bag moved slightly, and a face peeked out from above it.
"Oh, Y/n-kun!" It was Haru, her face bright with a smile.
Truthfully you had thought about hanging out with Haru, but it felt as if she was on a whole other level than you were. As kind as she was, deep down you felt that she'd dislike your company, and so you never spent time in hers.
"H-Haru, I didn't know it was you." You admitted, scratching the back of your ear.
She let out a happy giggle in response. "That's alright, I am carrying this after all."
"Ah, right! Want me to carry some...?" You offered.
Haru nodded her head. "Could you? We can get this to the roof a lot faster that way."
With that said she let the bag fall gently into your arms, then grabbed one more for herself from the ground. Her face was covered once again.
"Are you sure you'll be okay going up stairs like that? I mean, you can't really see." You pointed out.
Even while not seeing her face, you could tell she nodded from the way the ends of her fluffy hair bobbed with the action.
"Yes, please don't worry. I've done this quite a bit." She explained reassuringly.
Although she said that, it only deepened your slight frown. "Nobody helped you?"
Haru's footsteps halted for a moment before she continued walking. "No, but it's okay. I think people have a hard time approaching me because of my father, especially after..."
She paused before continuing. "Well, you already know. I'm completely fine though! If anything, this should help me get stronger!"
A half-laugh escaped you at her comment. "Yeah, that's true. These weigh a ton."
